主に1980年代に製造された8角形のベゼルが特徴的なサントスオクタゴンは、1990年頃に製造が終了しており、ヴィンテージならではの意匠です。ダイヤルはポーセリンのようなラッカーホワイトで、ミニッツトラック、ローマインデックス、サークルラインのコンビネーションが美しいです。ブルースチールのバトン針と、カボションリューズの貴石の色味がマッチしており、良いポイントカラーとなっています。自動巻ムーブメントであるCal.2671を搭載しています。

ケースは傷が見られず、清潔感にあふれたコンディションです。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。エナメル質のヴィンテージカルティエのダイアルは、クラックがあっても致し方ありません。厳密に見ますと、ダイヤルをケースから外してルーペで確認できる、微細なクラックが2時と5時のあたりにありますが、通常使用ではまずわかりません。針やインデックスは輝き、トータルコンディションに優れた一品です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

平面カットされたブレスレットは陽光でキラキラと輝き、良質なバングルを着けているようです。LMサイズのサントスオクタゴンは、近年入手が難しくなってきていますが、自動巻きともなれば尚の事です。ぜひ、ご検討ください。

1900年代、飛行士サントス・デュモンが飛行中に時刻を確認できるようカルティエにオーダーしたのが「サントス」の始まり。そのサントスのなかでも八角形型モデル「サントスオクタゴン」は、平面上にカットが入ったブレスが、腕を動かす度にキラキラと煌めきます。シンプルながらもエレガントな印象を与えるモデルです。

COMMENT

Primarily manufactured in the 1980s, the Santos Octagon is notable for its octagonal bezel, a design element that makes it a distinctive vintage piece. Production ceased around 1990. The dial features a lacquered white finish reminiscent of porcelain, with a beautiful combination of a minute track, Roman numerals, and a circle line. The blue steel baton hands and the coloured gemstone cabochon crown provide an elegant touch of contrast. It is equipped with the automatic Cal. 2671 movement.

The case is in pristine condition, free from scratches, and the dial is mint. Vintage Cartier enamel dials often have cracks, which is generally unavoidable. Upon close inspection, using a loupe, fine cracks can be observed around the 2 o'clock and 5 o'clock positions when the dial is removed from the case, but these are not noticeable during regular use. The hands and indexes are bright, contributing to the overall excellent condition of this piece. It has been serviced with a complete disassembly and cleaning by our company.

The flat-cut bracelet sparkles in the sunlight, resembling a high-quality bangle. The LM-sized Santos Octagon has become increasingly difficult to acquire in recent years, especially with automatic movement. Please consider this exquisite piece.
