COMMENT

サントスはブレスレットとベゼルがビスで彩られた、カルティエの個性を象徴するデザインです。指輪ではビスを用いた「LOVE コレクション」が1970年代から製造されています。8角形のベゼルが華やかなサントスオクタゴンは、すでに製造が終了しており、ビンテージならではの意匠です。ダイヤルは希少なバーガンディ。サントスシリーズには一般的なホワイトローマダイヤルの他に、グレーやバーガンディも展開され、特にバーガンディは需要が高いです。カボションリューズにはダイヤルに合わせた赤い貴石がセットされています。 自動巻ムーブメントであるCal.2671を搭載しています。

ケースとブレスレットは傷の少ない、グッドコンディションです。平面カットがキラキラと輝きます。ダイヤルはオリジナルのため、致し方ないところもあるのですが、クラックが確認できます。針は濃い金色が現存しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

LMサイズのサントスオクタゴンの中でも、特にバーガンディモデルは、近年入手が難しくなっております。 平面カットされたブレスレットは陽光でキラキラと輝き、良質なバングルを着けているようです。

1900年代、飛行士サントス・デュモンが飛行中に時刻を確認できるようカルティエにオーダーしたのが「サントス」の始まり。そのサントスのなかでも八角形型モデル「サントスオクタゴン」は、平面上にカットが入ったブレスが、腕を動かす度にキラキラと煌めきます。シンプルながらもエレガントな印象を与えるモデルです。

COMMENT

The Santos, with its bracelet and bezel adorned with screws, symbolises Cartier's distinctive design. The use of screws in jewellery can also be seen in the "LOVE Collection," which has been produced since the 1970s. The Santos Octagon, with its eight-sided bezel, is a vintage design that is no longer in production. The dial is a rare burgundy. In addition to the common white Roman numeral dials, the Santos series also features grey and burgundy variants, with burgundy being particularly sought after. The cabochon crown is set with a red gemstone that matches the dial.

The case and bracelet are in good condition, with minimal scratches. The flat cuts sparkle brilliantly. Although the original dial does show some cracks, which is inevitable, the hands retain their rich golden colour. The watch has been fully serviced by our company.

Among the LM-sized Santos Octagon models, the burgundy version has become increasingly difficult to find in recent years. The flat-cut bracelet sparkles in the sunlight, resembling a high-quality bangle.

In the early 1900s, aviator Santos-Dumont requested Cartier to create a watch that he could check while flying, giving birth to the "Santos." Among the Santos models, the octagonal "Santos Octagon" features a bracelet with flat cuts that sparkle with every movement of the wrist. It is a model that conveys a simple yet elegant impression.
