COMMENT

ファンシーラグとシリンダーケースが印象的。シリンダーケースとはサイドがフラットになった真円ケースのことで、無骨な雰囲気が人気のデザインです。ホワイトのマットなダイヤルに外周に青のタキメーターと内側に赤のテレメーターを搭載した、マルチカラーなデザイン。インデックスは偶数がアラビア、奇数がしずく型とデザイン性に富んでいます。3時位置の30分積算計針、9時位置のスモールセコンド、センタークロノのテールにさりげないデザインがあり、細部にまで構成されたブランドのデザインを堪能できます。

言わずと知られたトップムーブメントValjoux22を搭載。名機Valjoux23の前駆キャリバーとして製造されており、わかりやすい違いはサイズです。22は一回り大きく、おのずと大きいケースになります。プッシュボタンを押す指の力でリセットハンマーを駆動する為応用しやすく、フライバックモデルCal.222やワンプッシュモデルなど多彩なバリエーションがあります。多くのメーカーで採用され、軍需品などにも散見するこの機械は、信頼と実績を伴っています。

ホワイトやシルバーを基調とした清潔感あるカラーリングで構成され、タキメーターなどのディテールも全体の調和を崩さない落ち着いたデザインです。状態はきわめて良好で、細部に至るまで丁寧に維持されたコンディションを保っています。

COMMENT

The slim, outwardly flared lugs combined with the cylindrical case make a striking impression. A cylindrical case is defined by its perfectly round form with flat sides, giving it a rugged and utilitarian appeal that has long been admired. The matte white dial is accented by a blue tachymeter scale around the outer ring and a red telemeter scale within, resulting in a vibrant multi-color design. The hour markers alternate between Arabic numerals for the even hours and teardrop indexes for the odd, adding a distinctive visual rhythm. Further details such as the 30-minute counter at three o’clock, the small seconds at nine, and the subtle design element on the central chronograph hand all reflect the brand’s meticulous attention to design.

At its heart is the renowned Valjoux 22, one of the most celebrated chronograph movements. Produced as the predecessor to the famous Valjoux 23, its most notable difference lies in size—the 22 is larger, naturally requiring a bigger case. The reset hammer is directly driven by the pusher, allowing versatile applications, and this caliber served as the foundation for variations such as the flyback Cal. 222 and monopusher designs. Extensively used across brands and even in military-issued timepieces, the movement has a proven record of reliability.
