COMMENT

希少ムーブメントを収めるスピリノケースは、マイクロラウンドプッシャーとスクリューバックを備えた当時の防水設計。ケース左側に並ぶ3つのプッシュは、上から月表示、ムーンフェイズ、日付の早送り用に配されています。ダイヤルは反射の強い縦ヘアライン仕上げのシルバーで、強い輝きを放つフラットフェイス。外周にブルーのタキメーター、ブラックのバーインデックスとミニッツを配し、インダイアルは12時に日付とムーン、3時に30分積算計、6時に12時間積算計、9時に永久秒針を配置。針は半円を描くドーフィンハンドで、中央に夜光を備えています。3レジスタークロノグラフにトリプルカレンダーとムーンフェイズを融合させた、複雑機構の集大成Cal.281を搭載しています。

ケースは軽微な使用傷こそありますが、ラグのエッジが立った良好なプロポーションを維持。特に9時側のプッシュボタンは傷が入りやすい箇所ですが、大きなダメージがなく美しい状態です。ケースバックはシリアルとリファレンスの刻印が現存しています。ダイヤルやレター、ミニッツに至るまでエイジングの痕跡がほとんど見られず、優れた保存状態。針はわずかにくすみを帯びていますが、ダイヤルの雰囲気と調和しています。インデックスはブラックプリントの欠けがなく、艶やかさを保ち、全体的に上質なコンディションです。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

The Spirino case housing this rare movement features micro round pushers and a screw-back construction, reflecting the waterproof design of its era. On the left side of the case, three pushers are arranged for quick adjustment of the month, moon phase, and date. The dial is a flat silver surface with a vertically brushed finish that reflects light like wood grain, accented by a blue tachymeter scale around the periphery, black bar indexes, and minute track. Its sub-dials include a date and moon phase at 12 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3, a 12-hour counter at 6, and a running seconds at 9. The hands are semi-arched dauphine style with luminous inserts at the center. Powering the watch is the Cal.281, a masterpiece of mechanical complexity combining a triple calendar, moon phase, and three-register chronograph.

The case shows only light signs of wear, with sharp lugs and well-preserved proportions. Notably, the 9 o’clock pusher—often prone to damage—remains in excellent condition. The dial, printing, and minute track display virtually no aging, maintaining remarkable clarity and presence. The hands show a subtle patina but harmonize well with the overall dial. Indexes are free of print loss and retain their sheen, giving the watch an overall refined condition. The movement has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and serviced by our watchmakers.

The Tri-Compax stands as Universal Genève’s crowning achievement. First unveiled at Baselworld in 1944 to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary, it was a groundbreaking creation that combined chronograph functionality with multiple high complications. More than 70 years on, its design remains striking, with its reflective dial finish and bombe-style lugs reminiscent of the later Polerouter. Always positioned at the top of the line, the Tri-Compax embodies a fusion of technical ingenuity and aesthetic refinement—an icon that continues to anchor any serious collection.
