時針に見られる四角い意匠とスクエア型のインデックスは、このリファレンス特有のユニークなデザインで、チュードル・サブならではの個性を際立たせています。針・インデックスにはしっかりと夜光塗料が塗布されており、暗所でも十分な視認性を確保。ツールウォッチとしての本質が凝縮された一本です。ブレスレットにはリベット仕様の20mmオイスターブレスレットを装備し、クラスプデイトは「74」を刻印した当時のモデルが用いられています。

ケースは軽度な使用傷こそ見られますが、側面の面取りがきれいに残っており、全体として非常に良好なプロポーションを維持。ベゼルはエイジングにより色抜けが見られるものの、目立つ剥がれはなく、シャープな輪郭を保っています。ダイヤルにはこのリファレンス特有の経年変化が見られ、ヴィンテージならではの風格を感じさせます。針はくすみが最小限で、瑞々しい状態をキープ。夜光塗料は針・インデックスともにベージュに変化し、全体の雰囲気に美しく調和しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

チュードルのアイデンティティを色濃く感じさせるスノーフレーク針は、1968年に登場したRef.7021（ブルーダイヤル／シリアル62++++）から始まり、Ref.9411/0を最後に、1984年にRef.76100でロリポップ針へと移行しました。日本では「イカサブ」とも呼ばれ、チュードルならではの遊び心と大胆な個性を体現した名作です。

1930年代に＜ROLEX＞のディフュージョンブランドとして誕生。素晴らしい製造技術を誇りながらも、時計製造コストが高く認知度が低かった＜ROLEX＞に対して、低価格で一般庶民に親しまれた＜TUDOR＞。結果的には＜TUDOR＞が世間に認められたことで、＜ROLEX＞の認知度は急激に高まり、＜ROLEX＞は現在の「世界的に有名」なブランドとして認められるようになりました。

COMMENT

The Tudor Submariner Ref. 7016, affectionately nicknamed the "Snowflake," is a standout piece known for its distinctive square hour hand and square-shaped indexes—an iconic design trait unique to this reference. Both the hands and markers are filled with luminous material, ensuring excellent legibility even in low-light conditions. A true tool watch in every sense, this model also comes fitted with a period-correct rivet Oyster bracelet, complete with a clasp dated “74.”

The case shows only light signs of use, with well-preserved chamfers along the sides that speak to its excellent proportions. The bezel has faded with age, but retains sharp definition with no major chips or damage. The dial exhibits the kind of natural aging characteristic of this reference, giving it a strong vintage presence. The hands remain crisp with minimal patina, and the luminous material on both the hands and markers has aged to a pleasing beige hue that complements the overall aesthetic. The iconic "Snowflake" hands—an unmistakable symbol of Tudor’s design language—first appeared on the blue-dial Ref. 7021 in 1968 (serial range 62++++), and remained in production through the Ref. 9411/0 before being replaced by the "Lollipop" hand style on the Ref. 76100 in 1984. Founded in the 1930s as a diffusion line of ROLEX, TUDOR was conceived to offer the same technical excellence in watchmaking at a more accessible price point. While ROLEX was known for its high manufacturing costs and relatively low brand recognition at the time, TUDOR quickly gained popularity among the general public.
