COMMENT

ポルシェグループのF.A.ポルシェ率いるポルシェデザインがIWC社と連携して製造したダイバーズウォッチ、オーシャン500。その名の通り、当時500mの耐水性を備えた腕時計でした。

オールブラックの意匠に、レーザーのような赤い秒針が読時のしやすさを極限まで高めています。ケースは当時としては先進的なチタンを採用し、非腐食性、耐磁性、低アレルギー性に優れる上に軽量化を実現しています。ベゼルは反時計回りにのみ回転し、回す前にベゼルを押し下げる必要があります。これは、ダイビング中に誤ってベゼルを動かしてしまうことを防ぐ実用的な安全策です。

ケースに傷のほとんど見られない、当時の雰囲気をよく残した良いコンディションです。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。ベゼルとダイヤルのルミナスは素晴らしいベージュカラーを見せています。弊社にて分解掃除後、46時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

この時計は従来の時計職人による設計ではなく、ポルシェ911やステーショナリー、アパレルやタワーマンションなど多岐にわたるデザインを手がけてきたF.A.ポルシェがデザイナーを務めました。このモデルは西ドイツ海軍にも官給された経歴を持つダイバーズウォッチとしても有名で、近未来的なデザインが独自の人気博しています。

COMMENT

The Ocean 500 diver's watch, manufactured in collaboration between Porsche Design led by F.A. Porsche of the Porsche Group and IWC, was wristwatch to feature a water resistance of 500 meters, as its name suggests.

With an all-black design, enhanced by a laser-like red second hand for easy readability, the watch employed advanced titanium for its case, offering non-corrosive, antimagnetic, hypoallergenic properties, and lightweight construction. The bezel rotates only counterclockwise, requiring a push before turning, a practical safety feature to prevent accidental movement during diving.

In excellent condition with minimal scratches on the case, preserving the ambiance of that era well, the dial is in mint condition. The luminous markers on the bezel and dial display a beautiful beige color. After disassembly and cleaning, a power reserve of over 46 hours has been confirmed.

Designed not by traditional watchmakers but by F.A. Porsche, known for designing a wide range of products including the Porsche 911, stationary items, apparel, and even skyscrapers, this model, also famous as a diver's watch supplied to the West German Navy, enjoys its own popularity due to its futuristic design.
