ポルシェグループのF.A.ポルシェ率いるポルシェデザインがIWC社と連携して製造したダイバーズウォッチ、オーシャン2000。その名の通り、当時2000mの耐水性を備えた世界初の腕時計でした。

1982年から1998年まで製造された時計で、IWCのロゴがダイヤルに入ります。オールブラックの意匠に、レーザーのような赤い秒針が読時のしやすさを極限まで高めています。ケースは当時としては先進的なチタンを採用し、非腐食性、耐磁性、低アレルギー性に優れる上に軽量化を実現しています。ベゼルは反時計回りにのみ回転し、回す前にベゼルを押し下げる必要があります。これは、ダイビング中に誤ってベゼルを動かしてしまうことを防ぐ実用的な安全策です。また、竜頭はIWC初となるねじ込み式を採用しています。ブレスレットは1991年頃に導入された、第3世代のもので、リンクはピンで固定されるようになりました。

ケースにはわずかな小傷こそ見られますが、当時の雰囲気をよく残したスーパーミントコンディションです。ベゼルファンクション、リューズのねじ込みはしっかりと効きます。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。ベゼルとダイヤルのルミナスは素晴らしいベージュカラーを見せています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

この時計は従来の時計職人による設計ではなく、ポルシェ911やステーショナリー、アパレルやタワーマンションなど多岐にわたるデザインを手がけてきたF.A.ポルシェがデザイナーを務めました。このモデルは西ドイツ海軍にも官給された経歴を持つダイバーズウォッチとしても有名で、近未来的なデザインが独自の人気博しています。

COMMENT

The Ocean 2000 is a diver’s watch created by Porsche Design under the direction of F. A. Porsche in collaboration with IWC. True to its name, it was the world’s first wristwatch to achieve 2,000-meter water resistance at the time of its debut.

Produced from 1982 to 1998, this example is a mid-generation model distinguished by the IWC logo printed on the dial. The fully blacked-out aesthetic is punctuated by a razor-sharp red seconds hand, ensuring exceptional legibility. The case is made of titanium—an advanced material for its era—offering corrosion resistance, anti-magnetic properties, hypoallergenic comfort, and impressive lightness. The bezel rotates only counterclockwise and must be pushed down before turning, a practical safety mechanism designed to prevent accidental movement during a dive. The crown features IWC’s first implementation of a screw-down construction. The bracelet is the third-generation version introduced around 1991, with links secured by pins.

The case shows only minor surface marks yet remains in superb, near-mint condition, retaining the original character of the period. Both the bezel mechanism and screw-down crown operate perfectly. The dial is in mint condition, and the luminous material on the bezel and dial has developed an attractive beige tone. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Porsche—the creator behind the Porsche 911 as well as numerous products spanning stationery, apparel, and architecture. This model is also well known for having been issued to the West German Navy.
