COMMENT

1958年製のCal.8531搭載機で、希少なブラックミラーダイヤルを備えた一本です。夜光を用いず、レターはすべてギルト製法によるもので、光を受けて立体的な輝きを放ちます。多面カットのインデックスにはデボス仕上げのパールドロップミニッツが配され、ブラックダイヤルでありながら華やかさを湛えています。ケースは18金無垢製。カレンダーは寄り目で3時インデックスに干渉せず、背景色がダイヤルカラーに合わせたブラックという、他メーカーにはあまり見られない細やかな作りです。

ケースは過度な使用感が見られず、輪郭やエッジが鮮明な優れたコンディションです。オリジナルの風防が現存。ダイヤルはミラー特有の艶を損なわずパーフェクトな状態を維持。インデックスやドーフィンハンドは経年変化がほとんど見られず、きわめて良好なコンディションです。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

金無垢ケースと完璧なブラックギルトダイヤル、1950年代ならではの多面ファセットを持つインデックスなど、ヴィンテージウォッチとして申し分のない要素が凝縮された一本です。その完成度と存在感は、コレクターにとって垂涎の対象となることでしょう。

アメリカマサチューセッツ州ボストン出身の時計師、フロレンタイン・アリオスト・ジョーンズが1868年に創立したのが始まり。特徴的なデザインで今なお世界中で人気を誇る「パイロット・ウォッチ」コレクションなど、多くの人気シリーズを発売。磁気から時計を守る為の軟鉄製インナーケースや、IWC独自の"ぺラトン式"と呼ばれる両回転式自動巻機構はあまりに有名。

COMMENT

This 1958 example houses the Cal. 8531 and features a rare black mirror dial. Free of luminous material, all lettering is executed in gilt, catching the light with a three-dimensional brilliance. The multi-faceted indexes are accented by debossed pearl-drop minute markers, giving the dial an elegant sparkle despite its deep black tone. The case is crafted entirely from 18k gold. The “close-set” calendar layout avoids interference with the 3 o’clock index, and the date wheel is finished in black to match the dial — a level of refinement seldom seen in other makers’ designs.

The case shows minimal signs of wear, retaining sharp edges and well-defined contours. The original crystal remains intact. The dial preserves the distinctive gloss of a mirror finish in perfect condition, while the indexes and dauphine hands display virtually no signs of aging, remaining exceptionally well-preserved. Disassembly and cleaning have been completed by us.

With its solid gold case, flawless black gilt dial, and 1950s-style multi-faceted indexes, this watch encapsulates all the hallmarks of a truly exceptional vintage timepiece. Its balance of craftsmanship, rarity, and presence make it a highly desirable piece for any serious collector.
