ダイヤルはシンプルなマットブラック仕上げ。針は根元がブラックで、軸にホワイトを配したツートンカラーとなっており、中央には夜光塗料が施されています。インデックスは夜光塗料によるバータイプで統一され、実用性に優れたデザインです。ダイヤルの6時位置に一段下がった30分積算計が配され、レコード状の細かい溝がダイヤル中央との異なる光の反射を生み出します。リューズは引かずに回転させることで、インナーベゼルを操作可能。曜日は日本語と英語の2カ国語表記となっています。

特徴的なベゼルには小キズや剥がれが一切なく、非常に良好なコンディションです。ケースは細かな使用傷が見られるものの、全体のシルエットはしっかりと保たれています。ダイヤルはエイジングの影響がほとんどなく、非常にクリーンな印象。針はくすみや傷が見られず、美しいホワイトを維持しています。インデックスと針に塗布された夜光塗料もホワイトを保ち、視認性を高めています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

搭載キャリバーは、当時としては革新的だった垂直クラッチとコラムホイールを採用したCal.6139。リューズ操作による日付・曜日・言語切り替え機能は非常に画期的で、日本の技術力の高さを証明する仕様です。通称“61クロノ”と呼ばれる本機は、諏訪精工舎が生み出した、国産初の自動巻クロノグラフとして名を馳せた名作です。

COMMENT

The dial features a simple matte black finish. The hands are two-toned, with black at the base and white along the shafts, and are filled with luminous material at the center. The indices are uniformly rendered in luminous-filled bar shapes, creating a highly functional and practical design. At 6 o’clock, a recessed 30-minute counter is set into the dial, featuring a grooved, record-like texture that contrasts beautifully with the flat center dial and creates dynamic reflections. The crown, without being pulled out, can be rotated to adjust the internal bezel. The day display can be switched between Japanese and English.

The distinctive bezel shows no noticeable scratches or peeling, maintaining an excellent condition overall. The case shows minor signs of use, but retains its sharp silhouette. The dial remains exceptionally clean, with minimal signs of aging. The hands are free from tarnish or noticeable damage, maintaining their crisp white color. The luminous material on both hands and indices has also preserved its brightness, ensuring outstanding legibility. The watch has been disassembled, cleaned, and serviced by us.

Powering this watch is the Caliber 6139, a groundbreaking movement for its time, featuring a vertical clutch and column wheel mechanism. The crown-controlled quickset functions for date, day, and language were a revolutionary innovation, highlighting Japan’s high level of watchmaking prowess. Known affectionately as the “61 Chrono,” this model stands as the first automatic chronograph developed by Suwa Seikosha, marking a historic achievement in Japanese horology.
