ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げ。針は上面がフラットなドーフィンハンド、インデックスは多面的にカットされたバーインデックスと、グランドセイコーらしい王道の組み合わせです。ムーブメントは安定性に優れたCal.5722Bを搭載。カレンダー機能（早送り機能付き）を備え、裏蓋はねじ込み式のスクリューバックを採用し、当時性能で50mの防水性を実現しています。

ケースは軽微な使用傷こそ見られるものの、肉厚なフォルムをしっかりと保ったグッドコンディション。側面の面取りはオリジナルのシャープなラインが残り、好印象です。ダイヤルはシルバーの輝きを損なうことなく、素晴らしいコンディションを維持。針は上面の鏡面仕上げが美しく、瑞々しい光沢を放っています。インデックスはファセットカットが効いており、光を受けて豊かな表情を演出します。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

日本が世界に誇る時計ブランド＜SEIKO(セイコー)＞。1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代でした。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもありました。

COMMENT

The dial features a silver sunburst finish. The hands are flat-topped dauphine-style, paired with multifaceted bar indexes—an iconic combination that defines Grand Seiko’s timeless aesthetic. Powering the watch is the highly reliable Cal. 5722B movement, equipped with a quick-set date function. The caseback uses a screw-down design, achieving 50 meters of water resistance according to period standards.

The case shows only minor signs of wear and retains its thick, robust form, presenting a very good condition overall. The original beveled edges along the sides remain sharp and well-defined. The dial has maintained its brilliant silver tone, displaying an exceptional condition with no notable blemishes. The hands exhibit a beautiful mirror polish across their flat surfaces, creating a vivid shine, while the multifaceted indexes catch and reflect light with striking richness. The watch has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and serviced by our workshop.

SEIKO is a watch brand that Japan proudly presents to the world. The 1960s marked a period of exceptional development in mechanical wristwatches—considered by some to be their golden era. During this time, Seiko caught up with and eventually surpassed global standards in both chronometer competitions and mass production. At the same time, the shift toward “electronic timekeeping” was underway. In December 1969, Seiko launched the world’s first quartz wristwatch, marking a pivotal transition from mechanical to quartz watches.
