COMMENT

段付き（中心部が盛り上がった仕様）、半ツヤダイアルの145.022のなかでは、最初期（裏蓋にPRが最初に付いた）の文字盤はオーラのある雰囲気をしています。ケースに磨きがかかっていない、ノンポリッシュケースも高ポイントです。細かなディティールの違いが、＜スピードマスター（SPEEDMASTER）＞の醍醐味であり、マニアごころをくすぐります。

BRAND

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

Among the 145.022 models with stepped (raised center) and semi-gloss dials, the earliest variants, distinguished by the presence of "PR" on the case back, exude a distinct aura. The non-polished case, retaining its original finish, is another standout feature. These subtle differences in detail embody the essence of the Speedmaster and captivate enthusiasts.

BRAND

While the association of "Speedmaster equals space" is now firmly established, it's essential to remember its origins as a pure motorsport timepiece with no ties to space. Additionally, the Speedmaster is renowned as the first watch to display a tachymeter on the outer bezel, diverging from traditional dial designs. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor change, transitioning to an aluminum black base for the bezel and changing the needle shape from arrow to alpha, enhancing visibility. NASA sought a durable chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space and selected the Speedmaster over numerous competitors. The iconic moment of the Speedmaster being worn during the first manned moon landing in 1969 further solidified its status as the official watch for space exploration.
