COMMENT

30mmキャリバーのオメガ、ブラックダイヤルです。ルミナスを植字したタイプのアラビアインデックス、針に大きく塗布された夜行塗料など、当時のミリタリーウォッチとしての要素が随所に取り入れられています。当時スウェーデン政府がオメガに発注し、国民に発売されたモデルで裏蓋に「SUVERAN」と刻印されています。オメガのロゴや、外周のミニッツ、インダイアルの溝の目盛りまで全ての下地出し技法で手が込んでいます。スクリューバックのステンレスケースに、耐震装置付のスモールセコンドムーブメント（30T2PC）を搭載した、実用能力に長けた仕様です。

ケースは使用傷が少なく、良好なコンディションを保っています。ダイヤルはエイジングによる半艶の質感に変化しています。全体に均一なものなので、ヤレた印象は抱きません。針にはわずかに錆が見られますが、気になるほどではありません。針とインデックスの夜光塗料はベージュに変化し、ヴィンテージならではの風格を感じさせます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

30mmキャリバーとは、当時精度を競う天文台クロノメーターコンクールでの競技規定に合わせ、ムーブメントサイズを直径30ｍｍに作られた機械を元に開発されたもので、オメガの名声を長きにわたり支えた名キャリバーです。無理のないパーツレイアウトからメンテナンス性も素晴らしく、当店で自信を持ってお付き合いさせて頂ける時計です。

 一躍OMEGAを世界ブランドに押し上げるきっかけとなったCal.30シリーズ。中でも代表的なCal.30T2を搭載。1939年に発表された30ミリキャリバーは、ムーブメントの直径が30mmであることに由来しています。出来るだけ大きなテンプを収めて高精度を出すというシンプルな意図で作られたこの優れた機械は、言うまでもなく時計史に残る名機。OMEGAがこのムーブメントを公表後、他メーカーに大きな影響を与え、30ミリに同じ直径と、大きなテンプをもつキャリバーが次々オマージュされました。PCは耐震装置付きを意味します。

BRAND

腕時計が普及し始めた1910年代から手巻き、自動巻と変遷を経て、クオーツ時計の開発によって機械式時計が衰退します。それ以前の1960年代に機械式腕時計はひとつのピークに達します。当時は日本でも三種の神器の一つだったオメガの時計。持つ人のステータスとなる高級品で、各メーカーが精度や防水性、耐久性など切磋琢磨し開発した時代。コストをかけて、より良い時計造りのためにしのぎを削っていました。

COMMENT

The Arabic numerals are applied with luminous material, and the hands are generously coated with luminous paint, embodying elements typical of military watches of the era. This model was specially commissioned by the Swedish government and sold domestically, with "SUVERAN" engraved on the case back. Every detail, from the Omega logo to the minute track around the outer edge and the sub-dial’s concentric grooves, showcases meticulous craftsmanship through relief engraving techniques. The stainless steel case features a screw-back design, housing a highly practical small seconds movement (Cal. 30T2PC) with shock protection.

The case has few scratches and is in good condition. The dial has changed to a semi-glossy texture due to aging. It is uniform throughout, so it does not look worn out. There is a little rust on the hands, but it is not noticeable. The luminous paint on the hands and indexes has changed to beige, giving it a vintage look. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

The 30mm caliber was originally developed to meet the size regulations of observatory chronometer competitions, and it played a crucial role in establishing Omega’s reputation for precision. Its well-balanced movement layout ensures excellent serviceability, making it a timepiece we confidently stand behind.

The Cal. 30 series was instrumental in propelling Omega to global prominence, with the Cal. 30T2 being one of the most representative movements in the lineup. Introduced in 1939, the 30mm caliber was designed with a simple yet effective approach—maximizing the balance wheel size to achieve superior accuracy. This legendary movement left a lasting mark on watchmaking history, influencing numerous other brands to develop their own 30mm calibers with large balance wheels. The "PC" designation signifies the inclusion of a shock protection system.

From the 1910s, as wristwatches became more widespread, the industry evolved from manual-winding to automatic movements, only to face a decline with the advent of quartz watches. Before this shift, the 1960s marked a golden era for mechanical timepieces. In Japan, Omega watches were regarded as one of the "three sacred treasures" of luxury, signifying status and prestige. This was a time when manufacturers fiercely competed to refine precision, water resistance, and durability, investing heavily in superior craftsmanship to create the finest timepieces.
