押し出し感のあるシリンダーケースにワイドなフラットベゼルが、素晴らしい存在感を放っています。30ミリキャリバー登場以前のCal.26.5を搭載した個体としては35mm径というサイズは非常に大きく、当時としては高級素材であったステイブライトを惜しみなく用いた意欲作です。ダイヤルはゴールドとブラックミラーによるツートーンで構成され、夜光を用いないクリーンな仕様。ブルースチール製のリーフハンドと、戦前の特有の意匠を備えた秒針の組み合わせが、時代背景を濃密に映し出します。

ケースは傷が少なく、シャープなエッジを残したまま保たれています。ベゼルは平で鏡面仕上げが美しい輝きです。リューズは使用感がほとんど見られず、ダイヤルはオリジナルの色味を美しく保っています。高倍率のルーペで見るとごくわずかな経年変化が確認できますが、ブラックミラーの艶やかさは完全に保持されています。針はブルースチールの発色や秒針のメッキがしっかりと残る素晴らしい状態です。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

COMMENT

This striking piece features a bold cylinder case paired with a wide, flat bezel, offering exceptional presence on the wrist. Measuring 35mm in diameter, it is remarkably large for a watch equipped with the Cal. 26.5—Omega’s key movement before the advent of the 30mm calibers. At a time when case sizes were typically smaller and materials more modest, the use of Staybrite steel—a high-grade, corrosion-resistant alloy—speaks to the ambition and craftsmanship of this model. The dial is rendered in a rich two-tone combination of gold and black mirror, executed without luminous material for a clean, refined aesthetic. Blued steel leaf hands and a pre-war style seconds hand further reflect the design sensibilities of the era.

The watch appears to have seen almost no use. The case retains its sharp edges, and the polished bezel remains completely free of scratches. The caseback and the sides of the lugs still clearly display the original hairline finish. The crown shows minimal signs of wear, and the dial has beautifully preserved its original tone. Under high magnification, only the slightest signs of aging are visible; the black mirror finish remains lustrous and deep. The blued steel hands retain their vibrant hue, and the plated seconds hand is in excellent condition. Fully disassembled and cleaned by our workshop.
