スキッパーはヨットレース用に製造されたツールウォッチで、大きくてカラフルな15分積算系が特徴的です。赤、白、青の積算系は5分間毎のセクションに分かれており、5分という時間を繰り返し計測するのに便利な仕様です。スキッパーはホイヤーのラインナップの中でも非常に生産量の少なかったため、他のモデルからケースを流用し製造されました。当初はカレラのケースを使用していましたが、1970年代にオータビアのケースに移行します。Ref.15640は3rdモデルで、オータビアの最終モデル（Ref.11063V刻印入り）のCラインケースを使用しています。ダイアルから大きく飛び出ており、ヘアライン加工と鏡面を使い分けが上手いです。ダイアルはミラーのブラック。ベゼルは時間と分を記載しています。貴重な純正ブレスが付属します。

ケースは研磨歴を感じさせず、横から見たビューのエッジが立っています。60分のベゼルインサートに摩耗がなくフレッシュな印象です。若干フェード化したカラーリングで個性的です。ダイアルはエイジングが出ておらず、ミラーのツヤがパーフェクトに残っています。劣化が一切ないため、グロッシーなブラックとカラフルな積算系のコントラストを最大限に堪能できます。針やインデックスにエイジングはありません。ルミナスに焼けが出ておらず、しっかりとした蓄光が確認できます。

ムーブメントはCal.15を搭載しています。9時〜12時往復による日付早送り機能を備えた便利な機械ですので、使い勝手が良いです。ブルーカラーの15640も存在しますが、ブラックは人気で見つかりづらいです。状態の良いものを手に入れる絶好の機会ですので、ぜひご検討ください。

The Skipper is a tool watch designed for yacht racing, characterized by its large and colourful 15-minute chronograph subdials. The red, white, and blue subdials are divided into sections for every 5 minutes, making it convenient for repetitive timing. Due to its limited production quantity within the Heuer lineup, cases from other models were reused for manufacturing. Initially utilizing Carrera cases, it transitioned to Autavia cases in the 1970s. Ref.15640 is the 3rd model, utilizing the C-line case from the final Autavia model (marked Ref.11063V). It protrudes prominently from the dial, with skillful use of both hairline finishing and mirror polishing. The dial is a mirrored black, with the bezel indicating hours and minutes. It comes with a valuable original bracelet.

The case exhibits no signs of polishing history, with sharp edges when viewed from the side. The 60-minute bezel insert shows no wear and gives a fresh impression. The slightly faded coloring adds to its unique personality. The dial shows no signs of aging, with the mirror-like gloss perfectly intact. With no degradation whatsoever, you can fully appreciate the contrast between the glossy black and colourful subdials. There is no aging on the hands or indexes, and the luminescence shows no signs of fading, with a solid glow.

The movement is equipped with the Cal.15, a convenient mechanism featuring a quickset date function from 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock, enhancing usability. While there is also a blue-coloured 15640, the black variant is popular and hard to find. It's a great opportunity to acquire one in excellent condition, so please consider it.
