COMMENT

名機バルジュー726を搭載したマセイ・ティソの3カウンターダイバークロノグラフです。大ぶりな43mm径の樽型Cラインケースを採用しています。ブラックマットのリバースパンダダイヤル、白と赤のインナーベゼルの配色が素晴らしい視認性を獲得しています。10時位置の竜頭で、インナーリングを回転させます。ダイヤルにはタキメーター、30分積算計には初めの10分間に赤/黒のチェックをつけています。希少な純正ブレスレットを装備しています。

搭載しているValjoux Cal.726は名機CAl.72の1974年以降の後継機にあたります。振動数が18000 A/hから21600 A/hへと高振動化しており、衝撃に強くなっています。ロレックスのデイトナ第3世代であるRef.6263に搭載してあるCal.727は、この726がベースとなっています。

ミントコンディションです。ケースは上面のヘアラインやエッジが綺麗に残っていて、ほとんど使用感を感じません。ダイヤルに経年変化は見当たりません。厳正に判断しますと、写真にて30分積算計のインダイヤルに若干の色付きが確認できますが、ほとんど気にならないものです。ダイヤル、針、インデックスの全てが当時の状態のままを維持しています。色づきやすいインナーリングは、白の発色がよく評価できます。ブレスレットが長いまま現存しており、嬉しいです。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、48時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

マセイ・ティソは1886年設立のスイスのブランド。日本ではあまり流通していないブランドですが、クロノグラフの名門で数多の賞を受賞しています。WWⅡ前後の時期はアメリカ陸軍、イギリス海軍に供給をしています。この世代でValjouxの高級機を搭載している点でも、メーカーの実力を窺い知ることができます。

かつて世界中で多くの時計メーカーが乱立した時代がありました。その頃日本の為替レートは１ドル360円で固定され、輸入品はとても高価。その為、日本では知られていない時計メーカーが星の数ほど多く存在します。

This Massey-Tissot diver's chronograph, powered by the renowned Valjoux 726 movement, boasts a robust 43mm barrel-shaped C-line case. The matte black reverse panda dial, coupled with the striking color scheme of the white and red inner bezel, enhances its exceptional visibility. The 10 o'clock crown allows for the rotation of the inner ring. The dial features a tachymeter, and the first 10 minutes of the 30-minute totalizer are highlighted with red/black checks. It comes equipped with the rare original bracelet.

The Valjoux Cal.726 it houses is the successor to the acclaimed Cal.72, introduced after 1974. With an increased frequency from 18,000 A/h to 21,600 A/h, it exhibits enhanced shock resistance. The Cal.727, found in Rolex's third-generation Daytona Ref.6263, is based on this Cal.726.

In mint condition, the case retains its clean hairline finish on the top surface and sharp edges, displaying minimal signs of use. The dial shows no visible signs of aging. Upon close inspection, a slight discoloration is noted on the 30-minute sub-dial, as captured in the photos, but it is hardly noticeable. The dial, hands, and indices maintain their original state. The inner ring, prone to discoloration, showcases excellent white coloring. The bracelet, in its extended form, is a delightful feature. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our experts, confirming a power reserve of over 48 hours.

Massey-Tissot, founded in 1886 in Switzerland, may not be widely known in Japan, but it holds a distinguished reputation in the realm of chronographs, having received numerous awards. During the period around World War II, the brand supplied watches to the U.S. Army and the British Navy. The use of Valjoux's high-grade movement in this generation is a testament to the manufacturer's prowess.

In an era when numerous watch manufacturers flourished worldwide, Japan's fixed exchange rate of 360 yen to 1 dollar made imported goods prohibitively expensive. As a result, many watchmakers from that time remain relatively unknown in Japan despite their numerous contributions to the industry.
