COMMENT

カバードゴールドのケースはラグがややツイストした曲線を描き、裏蓋はフラットな構造でスマートな印象です。ダイヤルは艶やかなブラックミラー仕上げで、ロゴやミニッツトラックが下地出しで描かれており、深みのある立体感を演出しています。針はシャープなドーフィンハンド、インデックスは多面的なファセットが施された楔型で、先端を切り落としたようなユニークなデザイン、盤面と一体の製法です。12・3・9時のインデックスにはアールデコ調のフォントが取り入れられており、当時のデザイン潮流を感じられる一本です。ドットの夜光塗料は一段下がった穴に埋め込まれており、コストを掛けて作り込んでいます。

ケースは少々の使用傷こそ見られるものの、手の入っていない良好なコンディション。特に傷がつきやすいラグ部分にダメージがない点も好印象です。ダイヤルは経年により深みのあるトーンに変化し、落ち着いたヴィンテージらしい雰囲気を漂わせています。針は優しくくすみを帯びながらも、全体の調和を保った穏やかな表情。インデックスはごく軽いくすみがあるものの、光を受けるたびに繊細な輝きを放ちます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

The dial has a glossy black mirror finish, with the logo and minute track rendered in a recessed relief, creating a rich sense of depth. The sharp dauphine hands and faceted wedge-shaped indexes—with their distinctive clipped tips—enhance its unique character. At 12, 3, and 9 o’clock, Art Deco-style numerals reflect the design trends of the era. The luminous dots are inset into recessed wells, demonstrating a level of construction that clearly involved higher production costs.

While the case shows only minimal signs of wear, it remains in overall excellent condition. Particularly notable is the absence of damage to the lugs, which are typically vulnerable to scratches. The dial has aged into a deeper, more subdued tone, exuding a calm vintage atmosphere. The hands have gently mellowed with time, blending harmoniously into the overall composition, while the indexes retain a subtle glow that catches the light beautifully. The watch has been fully disassembled and serviced by our team.

This was likely a cutting-edge piece in its time. A spring is built into the inner case ring that secures the movement—an early precursor to the shock- and water-resistant “DS (Double Security)” system introduced in 1959. This innovative feature represents a key technological step toward the DS system, which would later become a hallmark of the Certina brand. The dial and case also offer several noteworthy details.
