COMMENT

ムーブメントはバンパー式のCal.481を搭載。1948年から1959年まで製造され、初期の自動巻機構として高い評価を得たキャリバーです。12時位置にパワーリザーブを表示しています。ダイヤルはマットなホワイト仕上げで、ローズゴールドトーンの飛びアラビアインデックスとクサビ型インデックスが組み合わされ、視認性と温かみを両立した構成となっています。針はフラットなアルファハンドで、光を受ける角度によって見え方が大きく変化します。37mmのケースはステンレススチール製で、シームレスにつながるラグや、4つ爪のスクリューバックなど、見どころに富んだデザインです。

ケースは極めて良好な保存状態で、ラグのエッジは立体感を保っています。ケースバックには販売当時のシールが残されており、保存状態の良さを物語っています。ダイヤルの質感変化は少なく、針は光沢を保った鏡面仕上げで鮮明な印象です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

＜JAEGER LE COULTRE（ジャガー・ルクルト）＞は、現在も個性的なモデルを数多く製造し続けるマニュファクチュール。かつては、他の名門メーカー（ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン、オーデマピゲ、パテックフィリップ、カルティエ等）にもムーブメントやパーツ等のエボーシュを供給していました。始まりは1183年、スイスの小さな工房から。「科学によって立つ」という信念のもと、信頼ある機械・製造ラインを作ることに力を入れ、時計の中心地であったスイスで、高級ブランドに時計の機械・部品製造の先端を行く供給元に成長しました。＜レベルソ＞を代表する自社ブレンドモデルなど、現在では数少ない自社生産のマニファクチュールブランドです。

COMMENT

This automatic wristwatch by LeCoultre features a distinctive power reserve indicator positioned at 12 o’clock. The dial is finished in a matte white tone and combines applied rose gold-tone Arabic numerals with faceted dagger indexes, offering both legibility and a warm aesthetic. The flat alpha hands change appearance depending on the angle of light, adding visual dynamism. Housed in a stainless steel 37mm jumbo case, the design boasts seamless lugs and a four-notch screw-back, creating a case full of thoughtful detail and balance.

Inside is the bumper automatic Caliber 481, produced between 1948 and 1959. Celebrated as one of the early self-winding movements, it laid the foundation for future developments—most notably its successor, the Cal.497, used in the iconic Futurematic. This watch stands as a hallmark of LeCoultre’s transitional engineering during a pivotal era in automatic movement innovation.

The case remains in outstanding condition, with crisp, well-preserved lug edges. Remarkably, the original caseback sticker is still intact, further underscoring its exceptional state of preservation. The dial shows minimal aging, while the mirror-polished hands retain a sharp, lustrous finish. Such a pristine example from the 1950s is a true rarity. Fully serviced and cleaned by our workshop.

Introduced during the developmental stage of automatic movement technology, this model embodies the innovative spirit and practicality of LeCoultre. While variations in gold and waterproof cases do exist, this stainless steel jumbo-case configuration is particularly scarce. JAEGER LE COULTRE, a manufacture that continues to produce a myriad of distinctive models, holds a unique position as a manufacture despite being a prestigious jewelry watch brand. In the past, it supplied movements and parts to other renowned manufacturers such as Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Cartier, among others. Founded in 1183, starting from a small Swiss workshop, Jaeger-LeCoultre emphasized the creation of a reliable mechanical and manufacturing line under the belief "standing by science." Over time, it grew to become a leading supplier of watch machinery and parts in Switzerland, competing with other luxury brands. Known for its iconic Reverso model, it is one of the few manufacture brands with in-house production.
