COMMENT

1968年から製造され始めた5thモデル、Ref.145.022です。50年間作られたスピードマスターだからこそ、マイナーチェンジを繰り返した経緯があり、細かなディティールの変化を見つける楽しみがあります。こちらはケースバックにメダリオンを有しており、ロゴのrが下がっている通称「下がりr」が特徴です。ムーブメントはCal.861赤金メッキになります。

ケースは以前仕上げられているかと思いますが、良いシェイプをしており、気になるダメージはありません。ダイヤルは劣化が見られずパーフェクトです。夜光はルミノバではなくトリチウムが使われているため、ベージュ焼けが見られ、素晴らしいヴィンテージ感を堪能することができます。裏蓋のテキストや刻印も綺麗に残っています。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、初期の世代は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名なお話。

The Ref.145.022, the 5th model introduced in 1968, marks a significant chapter in the Speedmaster's history. Over its 50-year production span, it underwent several minor changes, providing enthusiasts with the joy of discovering subtle detail variations. This model features a medallion on the case back, with the logo's "r" displaying the characteristic "dropped R." It houses the Cal.861 movement with a red-gold plating.

The case appears to have been previously polished but retains a good shape without any noticeable damage. The dial is in perfect condition without signs of degradation. The luminescence, using tritium instead of luminova, exhibits a beautiful beige patina, allowing for a wonderful vintage aesthetic. The text and engravings on the case back are also well-preserved.

The historic significance of the Speedmaster Professional, immortalized by NASA's first manned moon landing in 1969, remains unchanged.
