エベルといえば90年代にヒットしたネジ留めされたベゼルと薄くウェーブベルトが組み合わされたスポーツクラシックが代表作のイメージでしょうか。他にもクォーツモデルには一部のメーカーにしか使われていない高級ムーブメントが使われていたり、エルプリメロ搭載モデルが存在したりと何気に力のあるメーカーなんですね。こちらの時計はエベルがまだ創業家の支配下にあった1940年代のもの。なだらかな曲線と直線が使い分けられたラグは60年代の時計を思わせるモダーンなデザインです。ミカンのような、オレンジのような、何か温かみのあるゴールドのダイヤルに黒いサークルが組み合わせられて、優しい印象を醸し出しています。ムーブメントはAS1203をベースにしたEBEL120となっております。

BRAND

EBELは1911年に二人の創業者の名前ユージン・ブルムとアリス・レヴィ「Eugene Blum Et Levy」の頭文字を取り、エベル（EBEL）と名づけられました。1925年パリの装飾芸術博覧会にてグランプリを受賞、1964年にはローザンヌでのスイス博覧会でグランプリを受賞した歴史と実力のあるブランドです。

COMMENT

When we think of Ebel, the image that often comes to mind is their iconic sports classic from the 1990s, featuring a screw-down bezel and a thin, wavy bracelet—a true representation of their craftsmanship. However, Ebel quietly boasts several other strengths, such as using high-end movements in their quartz models, which are only used by a few manufacturers, and offering models equipped with the El Primero movement. This particular watch dates back to the 1940s when Ebel was still under the control of its founding family. The gently curved and straight lugs evoke a modern design reminiscent of watches from the 1960s. The warm gold dial, resembling tangerine or orange, combined with the black circle, exudes a gentle impression. The movement is based on the AS1203 and is known as the EBEL120.

BRAND

Ebel, derived from the initials of its founders Eugene Blum and Alice Levy, "Eugene Blum Et Levy," was established in 1911. The brand won the Grand Prix at the 1925 Paris Decorative Arts Exhibition and again in 1964 at the Swiss Exhibition in Lausanne, showcasing its rich history and expertise.
