クロノグラフの名門、ギャレットのマルチクロンパイロットです。12時間の回転ベゼル、ダイヤル外周にプリントされたテレメーターとタキメータースケールがこのモデルの特徴です。1940年代から1980年ごろまで長きにわたって製造されたマルチクロンパイロットですが、こちらは1960年代の製品です。ブラックマットにマットホワイトのインダイヤルが映えるリバースパンダダイヤルです。インデックスはクサビ。Galletロゴは1960年代から変更された、新型のロゴを配しています。搭載ムーブメントは言わずと知れた、名機Valjoux 72を搭載しています。

ケースは素晴らしいコンディションです。ケースから伸びでたラグは、ヘアラインと一筋入った鏡面仕上げが全て均一に残っています。回転ベゼルは外周に塗装の剥がれが見受けられます。ダイヤルは良いコンディションを保っています。ブラックマットダイヤルは、気になる様なシミやプリントの剥がれがみられません。白いインダイヤルは、若干の経年変化が見られますが、さほど気になりません。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。竜頭やプッシュボタンの状態が良く、スムースな操作性です。安定した操作感で楽しめます。

このギャレットは当時、100メートル防水性能を備えていました。ケースはスクリューバックで厚く、しかしながら38mmといったサイズ感は腕への収まりが良いです。ビックネームながらホイヤーほど主張を感じさせない、通好みの本格パイロットウォッチです。

BRAND

クロノグラフの名門。GALLETといえばクロノグラフのイメージが強く、1910年代から20年代にかけてワンプッシュ・クロノグラフを開発している。設立は1862年、ジュリアン・ギャレットによってスイスのラ・ショー・ド・フォンの地に＜ジュリアン・ギャレット社＞が。1883年には、息子のレオンに経営が託され、工場を＜レオン・ギャレット＞に。一方アメリカへの進出も早く、1864年になると子会社設立へ。クロノグラフはアメリカ海軍航空隊に供給され、40年代から50年代にかけてスイス空軍にも採用されるなど、長きにわたりパイロットたちの高い信頼も集めてきた。

COMMENT

The Gallet MultiChron Pilot, a renowned chronograph, is distinguished by its 12-hour rotating bezel and printed telemeter and tachymeter scales on the dial's periphery. Manufactured from the 1940s to around 1980, this MultiChron Pilot dates back to the 1960s. The reverse panda dial, combining a black matte background with a matte white sub-dial, is eye-catching. The indices are in the form of wedges, and the Gallet logo features the updated design introduced in the 1960s. It houses the acclaimed Valjoux 72 movement.

The case is in excellent condition, with lugs extending from the case featuring uniform hairline and a single mirrored finish. The rotating bezel shows some paint chipping along its periphery. The dial is well-preserved, with no notable stains or print wear on the black matte dial. The white sub-dial exhibits some minor aging but is not overly conspicuous. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team, and the crown and push buttons are in good condition, providing smooth operation.

This Gallet model boasted a 100-meter water-resistant capability at the time. The screw-back case is thick but maintains a comfortable 38mm size, fitting well on the wrist. A sought-after authentic pilot's watch from Gallet, it doesn't command attention like some other big names but is appreciated by connoisseurs for its genuine appeal.

BRAND

Gallet is synonymous with chronographs. The company developed a one-push chronograph in the 1910s and 1920s. Founded in 1862 by Julien Gallet in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the business was entrusted to his son Léon in 1883, becoming Léon Gallet. Simultaneously, the company expanded to the United States in 1864, establishing a subsidiary. Gallet chronographs were supplied to the U.S. Navy Air Corps, and from the 1940s to the 1950s, they were adopted by the Swiss Air Force, earning high trust among pilots for an extended period.
