1948年創業のフランスのメーカー"イエマ"。時計メーカーとしては後発ではありますがレーサー、ダイバーなどのそれぞれのプロフェッショナルへ向けた先進的なスポーツウォッチを産出しました。ラリーはレーサー向けに開発されたクロノグラフウォッチで Lejourなど他のメーカーでも生産されました。こちらは1960年代半ばにさかのぼる第1世代のモデルです。SSケースにはブラックのタコメーターベゼル、円形のクロノグラフプッシャーを備えています。ケースはスクリューバックであることも見逃せないポイントです。クラシックなレーシングダイアルは、2筋のレッドストライプが施されています。機械は評価の高いバルジュー7730ムーブメントを使用しています。

ケースは痩せが見られずプロポーションが良いです。ラグからケースサイドにかけてのシームレスなフォルムが美しいです。この個体の特別な点はベゼルです。元々ブラックであったカラーリングは、独自のエイジングによりライトブルーにフェードしています。ダイアルカラーとのマッチングも素晴らしく、計算されたかのような配色です。ダイアルに気になるようなダメージは見当たりません。針にはエイジングが見られますが、均一なものでさほど気になりません。

1969年に開催されたインディアナポリスで歴史的な優勝を遂げたマリオ・アンドレッティが着用していたのが、このイエマ・ラリーだと言われています。クロノグラフコレクターと自動車愛好家の両方を喜ばせる象徴的なモデルであることは間違いありません。

Founded in 1948, the French manufacturer "Yema" established itself as a pioneer in producing advanced sports watches tailored to professionals such as racers and divers, despite entering the watchmaking scene relatively late. The "Rally" series, a chronograph watch designed for racers, was also produced by other manufacturers like Lejour. This particular model dates back to the mid-1960s, representing the first generation. Crafted with a stainless steel case, it features a black tachymeter bezel and round chronograph pushers. Noteworthy is the screw-down case back. Its classic racing dial boasts two red stripes. The watch operates with the highly regarded Valjoux 7730 movement.

The case exhibits excellent proportions without appearing bulky. The seamless transition from lugs to case sides is aesthetically pleasing. What sets this piece apart is its bezel. Originally black, it has faded to a light blue hue through unique aging, which harmonizes remarkably with the dial color, creating a meticulously coordinated color scheme. The dial shows no significant signs of damage, although some aging is visible on the hands, it's uniform and not particularly distracting.

Legend has it that Mario Andretti wore this Yema Rally during his historic victory at the Indianapolis 500 in 1969. Undoubtedly, it stands as an iconic model that delights both chronograph collectors and automotive enthusiasts alike.
