1950年代に製造されたチューダー・プリンスオイスターデイト34。ダイヤルには当時らしいマットなギョシェ仕上げが施され、クラシックな雰囲気を醸し出しています。インデックスはクサビ型とアラビア数字を組み合わせたスポーティなデザインで、視認性と個性を両立。針はドーフィンハンドに加え、ブルースチールの秒針を採用し、機能美が際立つ仕様となっています。ムーブメントには、バタフライローターを備えたCal.390を搭載。さらに、デイト表示には赤と黒が交互に切り替わるルーレットデイトを採用し、実用性、先進的なデイト機能のアピールを兼ね備えています。

ケースは4本のラグが均整の取れた形状を保っており、バランスの良いプロポーションを維持しています。大きな傷はなく、シーンを問わずご使用いただけます。ギョシェ仕上げのダイヤルはエイジングによる色付きがほとんど見られず、大変ミントな質感を維持しています。1950年代当時のギョシェダイヤルで、ここまで状態の良いものは稀少です。針やインデックスにはメッキの剥がれが見られず、夜光塗料には若干の黒ずみが見られますが、ヴィンテージならではの味わいを醸し出しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

ロレックスのアイデンティティを継承するチューダーの中でも、特に堅牢な造りを堪能できる一本です。搭載されているCal.390はチューダー専用ムーブメントであり、製造期間が短く、同時期のロレックスCal.1030に比べても生産数が少ないため、貴重な存在です。厚みを感じるぽってりとしたケースは、豊かな装着感を提供し、ヴィンテージウォッチならではの魅力を存分に味わうことができます。

BRAND

1926年にROLEXのイギリス普及拡大のため誕生したディフュージョンブランド。ブランド名もイギリスの名門『チューダー家』にちなんだもので市民に親しみやすさをアピールしようとしていたことが窺い知れる。ヴィンテージチュードル人気のポイントはやはり、ケースやリューズなどROLEXのパーツが使われていること、チューダー家の薔薇の紋章をロゴに採用したことでロレックスと同じケースながら、ダイアルにはバラのロゴが配された“デカバラ”や“小バラ”と呼ばれるチュードル独自の人気モデルが誕生した。その後チュードルはロゴを盾をモチーフにしたものに変更し現在ではROLEXからは離れ、独自路線を進むことになる。

COMMENT

The Tudor Prince Oysterdate 34, produced in the 1950s, features a dial with a typical matte guilloché finish from that era, exuding a classic charm. The indexes combine wedge-shaped markers with Arabic numerals in a sporty design, achieving both readability and individuality. The hands include Dauphine hands, with the addition of a blued steel seconds hand, highlighting functional beauty. The movement is powered by the Cal.390, equipped with a butterfly rotor. Furthermore, the date display utilizes a roulette date wheel, alternately switching between red and black, offering both practicality and an advanced date function.

The case maintains a well-balanced shape with its four lugs, ensuring a harmonious proportion. It shows no major scratches and can be worn in various settings. The guilloché dial has maintained a remarkably mint condition with almost no aging or discoloration. A guilloché dial from the 1950s in such excellent condition is a rare find. The hands and indexes show no wear on the plating, and while there is slight darkening of the luminescent paint, it adds a vintage charm. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

Among the Tudor models that carry on the Rolex identity, this piece is particularly well-constructed. The Cal.390 movement, exclusive to Tudor, had a short production period, and its production numbers are lower compared to the contemporary Rolex Cal.1030, making it a valuable piece. The thick, robust case provides a rich wearing experience, allowing one to fully appreciate the unique appeal of a vintage watch.

Founded in 1926 as a diffusion brand to expand Rolex’s presence in the UK market, the brand name is derived from the renowned "Tudor family," reflecting a desire to create a sense of accessibility for the public. A key factor in the popularity of vintage Tudors is the use of Rolex components, such as the case and crown. Additionally, the use of the Tudor family’s rose emblem in the logo led to the creation of popular Tudor models with the same Rolex cases but dials featuring the rose logo, known as "Big Rose" and "Small Rose." Later, Tudor changed its logo to a shield motif, distancing itself from Rolex and pursuing its own path.
