セイコーパンダの中でも国内市場向け、「ベビーパンダ」と呼ばれるモデルです。この世代には画期的な垂直クラッチの自動巻クロノとして販売されました。Cal.6138は当時先進的な垂直クラッチ式を採用したキャリバー。自動巻きにデイデイト表示、そしてリューズでのクイックチェンジが可能な日本の技術力の高さや意地を感じるムーブメントです。
