オメガ1960年代末に出現した独特なモデルライン、ジュネーブアドミラルティ。数種類のデザインバリエーションで展開されました。これは1940年代のミリタリースタイルを彷彿とさせる操作のしやすい大型の竜頭に、1960年代アレンジの竜頭ガードを採用しています。ケースはスーパーコンプレッサーなど防水性に優れたケースを開発していたEPSA（Ervin Piquerez SA）製。裏蓋の内側にはダイビングベルをデフォルメした刻印が見られます。ダイアルは、グレーの中にインデックスやオレンジ色がよく映えています。ムーブメントは、最も円熟した時代に作られた565を搭載。リューズの二段引きによる、日付の早送りが搭載されています。

ケースはエッジの立った素晴らしいプロポーションです。研磨歴がないケースは、気になるダメージは見当たりません。ダイアルはややエイジングが確認できますが、肉眼ではほとんど気になりません。塗装針は色抜けがなく、当時のままを保っています。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、完全な作動を確認しています。

イタリア語で「イカリ」という、ペットネームが付いています。当時は本格的なダイバーズウォッチなどのスポーツウォッチは既に存在していましたが、このモデルのようにライトなスポーツモデルは珍しく、OMEGAらしいアプローチが魅力です。色使いの豊かさも、上品ながらインパクトがありブランドの独自性を感じ取ることができます。

COMMENT

The OMEGA Geneva Admiralty, a distinctive model line that emerged in the late 1960s, offered several design variations. This particular model features an easily operable large crown reminiscent of 1940s military style, with a crown guard arrangement from the 1960s. The case, known for its excellent water resistance, is manufactured by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez SA), which developed cases like the Super Compressor. The inner side of the case back displays an engraving inspired by a deformed diving bell. The dial, with shades of gray and vibrant orange accents, creates an appealing contrast. It houses the 565 movement, crafted during one of the most mature periods of watchmaking, and includes a two-stage crown pull for quick date adjustment.

The case boasts sharp proportions with no evidence of polishing or notable damage. While the dial shows some aging, it is hardly noticeable to the naked eye. The painted hands retain their original color without fading. The watch has been overhauled by our shop, ensuring its full functionality.

Nicknamed "Ancora" in Italian, meaning "Anchor," this model represents OMEGA's unique approach during a time when full-fledged sports watches like divers were already in existence. The richness in color, coupled with elegance and impactful design, allows one to sense the brand's distinctive style.
