1950年代のメンズらしく、小型のケースが特徴的なエテルナです。針とレターがゴールドで、外周を囲ったチャプターリングが目を引きます。一段下がったスモールセコンドのインダイアルは、レコード盤のような掘り込みと、下地出しのサークルレターが繊細です。アラビア夜光に、スクリューバックのステンレスケース、など当時のスポーツモデルとしての要素が随所に見て取れます。耐震装置を備えたムーブメントもその一つです。角穴車が下に潜り込んだ、軸を保持しやすい輪列配置に加え、ゼンマイが切れた際の修理がしやすいように、それぞれ受けを切り分けて設計されています。ルビーを保持するシャトン留めの装飾は、IWCのCal.83や古い世代のLONGINESなどで見られる装飾で、どちらも機械の評価が高いメーカーです。妥協の無い技術開発が感じられるムーブメントです。

ブラックギルトダイヤルは艶が60％程度残っている感覚です。和紙の繊維質を感じるような細かなパティナに覆われており、味わい深く経年変化しています。下地出しの印字技法はレターがきれいに残りますので、ミニッツサークルが際立って光ります。夜光塗料はベージュカラーのトーンが好ましく、この年式のものにおいて理想的なエイジングです。ケースはたいへん状態が良いです。面取りされたベゼルの面がパリっとしています。裏蓋は深い刻印と、当時の物と思われる同心円状のヘアラインが確認できます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

「小さい＝技術力が高い」とされた時代におけるハイスペック製品です。さりげなく腕に付けられるミッドサイズは一見おとなしいですが、ブラックダイヤルの存在感に思わず目を惹かれます。

In the 1950s, Eterna showcased a distinctively masculine style with its small-sized cases. The hands and indices were adorned in gold, and the minute circle surrounding the outer perimeter caught the eye. The slightly recessed small seconds sub-dial featured intricate engravings resembling a record, along with delicately crafted circular lettering. Elements characteristic of sports models from that era, such as luminescent Arabic numerals and a screw-back stainless steel case, were evident throughout. The movement, equipped with a shock absorber, displayed careful design considerations, including a column arrangement to facilitate easy maintenance of the axle held by a lower-positioned hole jewel. The winding barrel was also designed with segmented sections to simplify repairs in case of a broken mainspring. The decorative chaton setting to hold the rubies is reminiscent of adornments found in high-caliber movements of reputable manufacturers like IWC's Cal. 83 and older generations of LONGINES. This movement reflects an uncompromising approach to mechanical development.

The black gilt dial retains approximately 60% of its luster, covered in a fine patina reminiscent of the fiber texture of Japanese paper, exuding a deep and tasteful aging. The underlayer printing technique ensures the clean preservation of letters, making the minute circle stand out when illuminated. The beige-tone luminescent paint adds a desirable touch. The case is in excellent condition, with the faceted bezel exhibiting a crisp finish. The case back features deep engravings and concentric hairline patterns typical of the era. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

In an era where "small equals high technical prowess," this watch stands as a high-spec product. The subtly sized mid-sized watch, despite its unassuming appearance, captivates the observer with the striking presence of the black dial.
