Ref.6694はロレックスが生産したデイト付き手巻きモデルの最終系です。1960年代から70年代までおよそ20年間にわたり生産されました。同じ型でもそれだけに表情が年式ごとに違い、一つ一つの個性を見ることができます。1963年製のこちらは伝統的なオイスターケースに、ブラックギルトのダイヤルが収められています。レターやミニッツは全て下地出しです。クサビインデックスやクラシックなアルファハンドは、ヴィンテージテイストを強調されるゴールドカラー。王冠ロゴはフラットなものが採用されています。スムースベゼルとRef.7205オイスターブレスを備えたケースはスポーティーです。エンドリンクは50です。搭載Cal.1215は長きに渡ってファイチューンを繰り返しながらも、基本構造は変わらず、ポテンシャルが窺い知れます。メンテナンスに関して弊社で自信を持ってお付き合いさせて頂ける時計です。

ケースは太くたくましいラグが印象的。細かい使用傷が多々みられますが、プロポーションが良いため貫禄が増しています。ブラックギルトダイヤルは経年変化により、下地が表れています。インデックスや針の状態がよく、ヤレたような雰囲気は感じられません。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、50時間以上のロングパワーリザーブを確認しています。

当時のブラックダイヤルは生産数がシルバーに比べ100本に1本、とても珍しいです。このようなブラックダイヤルを着用されるのは、個性が認められる当時の上流階級や特別な役職を担う方だったことでしょう。現在はブラウンを斑に見せる、唯一無二の一品となっております。

Ref.6694 represents the final iteration of Rolex's date-equipped hand-wound models, produced from the 1960s to the 1970s, spanning approximately 20 years. Even within the same model, each piece exhibits unique characteristics, reflecting the era it was crafted in. This 1963 example features a traditional Oyster case housing a black gilt dial, with all lettering and minute markers in gilt. The combination of gilt indices and classic alpha hands in gold color accentuates its vintage charm. The flat crown logo adds to its appeal. With a smooth bezel and a case equipped with Ref.7205 Oyster bracelet and end links 50, it exudes a sporty vibe. The Cal.1215 movement, although subject to numerous refinements over the years, retains its core structure, hinting at its enduring potential. The case is characterized by robust and thick lugs, exuding a commanding presence despite the presence of minor scratches, which only enhance its dignified proportions. The black gilt dial shows signs of aging, with the base material showing through, yet the indices and hands remain in good condition, devoid of any worn-out appearance. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our experts, ensuring a long power reserve of over 50 hours.

During its time, black dials were exceptionally rare compared to silver dials, with a production ratio of 1 to 100. Additionally, wristwatches were considered even more luxurious than they are today, with it being commonplace for a household to own just one. Those who wore such black dials were undoubtedly recognized individuals from the upper echelons of society or held special positions of authority.
