Ref.769は、クロノマットのファーストモデルにあたり、角形プッシャーやパテントナンバーの印字といった初期型ならではのディテールが凝縮された一本です。本個体は1stモデルとしては極めて珍しいツートンダイヤルを備え、中央の赤いチャプターリングが鮮やかな差し色として機能しています。ダイヤルには「SINGER」の表記が確認でき、これは当時トルコの販売代理店の名であり、搭載ムーブメントVenus 175にも同様の刻印が見られる、極めて特異かつ稀少な仕様です。
ほとんど使用感のない優れたコンディションを保ち、ケースはラグと一体化した滑らかなラインが際立ちます。ブライトリングの航空時計は本来、防水性が考慮されていないため、ダイヤルやインサートにダメージを伴う個体が多い中、本品はブラックミラーダイヤルの艶がしっかりと残っており、資料的価値の高い状態です。夜光塗料のラジウムは経年で黒く変色しています。コレクターズアイテムのため、弊社では分解掃除を行っておりません。
金無垢クロノマットという選択肢は、鋭い審美眼を持つ愛好家でなければ辿り着かない領域でしょう。航空計算尺のパテントナンバー「217012」がダイヤル中央に印字され、ムーブメントには古典クロノグラフの基礎を築いた名機Venus 175を搭載。ピラーホイール機構やキャリングアーム、大型のチラネジ付きテンワ、ブレゲヒゲゼンマイといった高精度設計を備え、時計史的にも技術的にも完成度の高い一本です。
