CARTIER LM PRE MUST TANK

Since its introduction in 1919, the Tank has remained one of Cartier’s enduring icons. This example predates the 1970s diffusion line “Must de Cartier” and belongs to what collectors commonly refer to as the pre-Must period. The case is gold-plated, paired with a white Roman dial that notably omits the “must de” signature, preserving a purer expression of the classic Tank aesthetic.

The dial shows minor hairline cracks, subtle enough not to distract from the overall impression. The hands exhibit light oxidation consistent with age, adding character rather than detracting from legibility. The Roman numerals retain their gloss, with no visible loss to the printed surface. While there is some plating wear on the outer edge of the caseback, the upper surfaces remain smooth, and the watch presents well overall.
