COMMENT

TISSOTやOMEGAなどにエボーシュを供給していた＜LEMANIA＞。ブラック×ホワイトのブルズアイダイヤルが印象的で、当時のスポーツウォッチらしい明快なコントラストを備えています。インデックスはルミナスのオールアラビアで、ニードルハンドにも夜光塗料を塗布。スクリューバックケースの裏蓋には、耐磁・防水性能を意識した当時の訴求を想起させる刻印が確認できます。

ムーブメントは自社Cal.3000を搭載し、同系統としてCal.3100も存在します。Cal.3000は巻き上げヒゲを備えた仕様で、平ヒゲのCal.3100と比べると前期の生産、もしくは上位仕様として語られることがあります。緩急針付近から突き出る金色のデバイスは、ヒゲ棒とヒゲ受の双方に設けられたもので、衝撃時にヒゲが乗り上げるのを防ぐ役割を担います。オメガの名作Cal.321にも見られる構造です。

製造から70年を経たケースは、保管に伴う小傷こそ見られますが、大きなダメージはなくプロポーションを保っています。ラグは3面カットのエッジが効き、フラットなベゼルと相まって輪郭が明瞭です。ダイヤルは経年変化が少なく、ブラックの光沢とホワイトの対比がきれいに残っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

ツートンのブルズアイダイヤルは手元にクラシックなヴィンテージらしさを添えてくれます。レマニアという名門ながら通好みなネームも所有欲を満たします。初めてのヴィンテージウォッチを使われる方にも、玄人の方にもおすすめできる一品です。

BRAND

1884年の創業当初から、 クロノグラフを手掛けるエボーシュメーカーとして活躍。1940年代には自社名を冠したミリタリーウォッチを製作し、イギリス軍やスウェーデン軍に軍用時計を供給しています。 特にイギリス軍には陸・海・空軍すべてに同社のクロノグラフが採用されるなど、信頼度の高さを証明しています。また、エボーシュメーカーとしては、1932年以降にOMEGAなどのムーブメントの供給元にもなっています。 1969年の、アポロ11号月面着陸の際にアームストロング船長の腕に巻かれていたオメガの＜スピードマスター＞の機械は、＜LEMANIA＞が手掛けていたことを忘れてはいけません。

COMMENT

Supplying ébauches to houses such as Tissot and Omega, Lemania established itself as one of the great movement specialists of the 20th century. This example features a striking black-and-white bullseye dial, delivering the bold contrast typical of period sports watches. All-Arabic luminous numerals enhance legibility, while the needle hands are also treated with luminous material. The screw-back case bears engravings referencing anti-magnetic and water-resistant properties, reflecting the functional emphasis of the era.

Inside is the in-house Cal.3000, with the related Cal.3100 also known within the same lineage. The Cal.3000 is equipped with a Breguet overcoil hairspring, and is often regarded as an earlier or higher-specification version compared to the flat hairspring Cal.3100. The small gold-colored devices extending near the regulator serve to prevent the hairspring from shifting during shock, positioned at both the stud and cock—an architecture also seen in Omega’s celebrated Cal.321.

After approximately 70 years, the case shows minor storage marks but no major damage, retaining its original proportions. The sharply faceted three-plane lugs and flat bezel preserve a crisp outline. The dial exhibits minimal aging, with the gloss of the black and the clarity of the white contrast remaining well defined. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The two-tone bullseye dial brings a classic vintage character to the wrist. While Lemania may be considered a connoisseur’s name, its pedigree adds depth to ownership. BRAND

Founded in 1884, Lemania built its reputation as a specialist in chronograph ébauches. By the 1940s, it was producing military watches under its own name, supplying timepieces to the British and Swedish armed forces. As a movement manufacturer, it also became a key supplier to brands including Omega from 1932 onward. Notably, the movement inside the Speedmaster worn during the Apollo 11 moon landing traces its origins to Lemania’s chronograph expertise.
