機械式時計最盛期、1969製のデイデイトです。金無垢とプラチナのみで展開されているデイデイトは、フルスペルで曜日が表示される初のモデルでした。18金無垢のオイスターケースはフルーテッドベゼルの輝きが美しく重厚感があります。ホワイトゴールドのものは扱いやすく、特に人気が高いです。ダイヤルはサンレイで、シンプルな仕上げなだけに素材の良さが堪能できます。ロレックス純正の尾錠を合わせています。

ケースは使用傷が多少ありますが、未仕上げでプロポーションに優れています。2時のラグ裏のホールマークがしっかりと視認できるのがポイントです。ダイヤルはパーフェクトです。美しいコンディションで当時のヘアラインをそのままに残しています。当時のオリジナル針とインデックスは上面の鏡面仕上げが煌びやかに輝きます。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上を確認しています。

COMMENT

This is a 1969 Day-Date, representing the pinnacle of mechanical watchmaking. The Day-Date, available exclusively in solid gold and platinum, was the first model to feature the full-spelling display of the day of the week. The 18-carat solid gold Oyster case boasts a beautiful gleam with its fluted bezel, exuding elegance and substance. The white gold version is particularly popular for its ease of wear. The dial features a sunray finish, allowing the quality of the material to shine through with its simple yet refined appearance. It is paired with a genuine Rolex clasp.

The case shows some signs of wear but retains excellent proportions with an unpolished finish. The hallmark on the back of the lug at 2 o'clock is clearly visible, an important detail. The dial is in perfect condition, preserving the original hairline finish from that era. The original hands and indexes gleam brightly with their top surface mirror finish. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our company, confirming a power reserve of over 48 hours.

When the Day-Date was introduced in 1956, it was the world's first waterproof chronometer automatic watch to display both the date and the day of the week. From being presented to the 35th President of the United States, Eisenhower, by Rolex, to its current status as the pinnacle of status watches, the Day-Date has solidified its position as an icon.
