セイコーの希少モデル「プロフェッショナル300mダイバー」。62ダイバーはセイコーの本格ダイバーとして幻とも言われる300ダイバーの初期モデルです。ステンレスのワンピースケースに、ハードレックスガラス、ねじ込み式リューズが採用されています。ベゼルは両回転式で、キチキチと小気味良い音を鳴らします。ダイヤルはブラックマット。外周部のミニッツは一段上がった立体構造で、高級感があります。インデックスと針はルミナスを縁取ったもので、無二の存在感です。縁には細かなヘアライン仕上げを施しています。アウターベゼルは発売当時のカウントダウン仕様。カウントアップのサービスベゼルも存在します。当時のウレタンベルトを装備しています。

ケースは保管に伴う小傷が見られますが、オリジナルのプロポーションを保った良好なコンディションです。ダメージが表れやすいアウターベゼルはブラックの色味をよく残し、瑞々しいです。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。ゴールドプリントのレターに劣化は見当たりません。インデックスは目立ったエイジングは見られず、ルミナスはベージュカラーで理想的な色合いを保持しています。針は鏡面仕上げに若干のくすみが見られますが、肉眼ではほとんど気になりませんので、ご安心ください。大変希少な当時のウレタンベルトは、実際のダイビングで使用されると硬化しクセがつきますが、これはそれが見られない状態です。弊社にてオーバーホール済みですので、ご購入後すぐお使いいただけます。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

Introducing the rare Seiko "Professional 300m Diver" model, also known as the 62 Diver, considered by many as a mythical early model among Seiko's professional divers. Crafted with a stainless steel one-piece case, Hardlex crystal, and screw-down crown, this model boasts a bidirectional rotating bezel with a satisfyingly precise ratchet sound. The dial is a matte black, with raised indices on the outer perimeter, exuding a sense of luxury. The luminous indexes and hands are outlined, standing out boldly against the backdrop. The outer bezel functions as a countdown timer, as it did upon its initial release, though a count-up service bezel variant also exists. It comes equipped with the original urethane strap from the time.

While the case shows minor marks from storage, it maintains its original proportions in excellent condition. The outer bezel, prone to damage, retains its black coloration remarkably well, appearing fresh. The dial is in mint condition, with no signs of deterioration on the gold-printed lettering. The indexes show minimal aging, with the luminous material maintaining an ideal beige hue. Although there is slight dullness on the mirror-polished hands, it is hardly noticeable to the naked eye, ensuring peace of mind. The highly rare urethane strap from the time exhibits no signs of hardening or wear, a remarkable feature. Having undergone an overhaul by our team, it is ready for immediate use upon purchase.

This Seiko Professional Diver represents one of the brand's finest creations, harnessing Seiko's accumulated expertise just before the onset of the quartz crisis. This model, which is showcased at the Seiko Museum, boasted specs surpassing even the Rolex Submariner of its time, earning it the title of the pinnacle of Seiko's craftsmanship. The robust construction, including its waterproofing, exceeded industry standards at the time. Notably, Seiko exclusively handled the servicing of these Professional Divers, without external parts supply, making this fully original piece a treasure of Japanese watchmaking history.
