COMMENT

深いマットグレーのダイヤルに、3時・6時・9時位置へそれぞれ30分積算計、12時間積算計、スモールセコンドを備えたクロノグラフ。視認性と機能性のバランスが取れた構成で、インダイヤル外周にドット夜光を備える仕様です。ムーブメントは、Cal.861をベースに改良されたCal.911を搭載。9時位置のスモールセコンド、10時位置のリューズによるデュアルタイム針、8時位置から操作するインナーベゼルなど、多機能ながら優れた操作性を実現しています。風防は第2世代の特徴であるフラットなミネラルガラスを採用し、耐傷性も強化されています。装備されているブレスレットは初期仕様のRef.1117、エンドリンクは155が組み合わされています。

ケースはポリッシュされておらず、使用に伴う経年の風合いがそのまま残る自然な佇まいです。ダイヤルはインダイヤルがブラウンチェンジしており、“トロピカル”と呼ばれる経年変化が見られます。ダイヤル外周3時から5時にかけての変化も含め、ヴィンテージならではの表情を備えた個体です。針とインデックスに塗布された夜光塗料は、経年により温かみのあるブラウンに変化しており、全体の印象に柔らかな奥行きを与えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Ref.145.026は、1971年に登場したフライトマスターの第2世代であり、ダイヤル構成や色味に多様なバリエーションが存在します。本機では、初代の24時間表示がスモールセコンドに変更されており、Cal.911の実用性をより高めた仕様となっています。ムーブメントはレマニア社製をベースとしており、スピードマスター同様、シリアルナンバーから1971年製であることが確認可能です。NASAに採用されたスピードマスターに対し、フライトマスターはソビエト宇宙機関「ロスコスモス」での採用実績を持ち、両者はそれぞれ異なる宇宙開発の歴史を象徴しています。機能性、歴史的背景、そして造形の完成度のすべてが凝縮された一本です。

COMMENT

This chronograph features a deep matte grey dial, with a well-balanced layout consisting of a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6, and small seconds at 9. This particular example is fitted with luminous dots around the outer edge of each subdial—a variation found on select pieces. It is powered by the Cal.911, an enhanced evolution of the Cal.861. With a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, a dual-time hand operated via the crown at 10, and an inner rotating bezel controlled by the pusher at 8, it offers a wide range of functions while maintaining excellent usability. The second-generation flat mineral glass enhances scratch resistance. The bracelet is the early Ref.1117 fitted with end links stamped 155.

The case has not been polished, preserving its original contours with a natural, vintage presence shaped by time and use. The subdials have developed a warm tropical brown patina—an appealing and sought-after trait in vintage chronographs. Subtle aging from 3 to 5 o’clock along the outer edge of the dial further enhances its character. The lume on the hands and indices has matured into a rich, warm brown, adding depth and warmth to the overall aesthetic. Fully disassembled and serviced by our watchmaker.

Ref.145.026, introduced in 1971, is the second-generation Flightmaster and is known for its wide range of dial variations. In contrast to the first generation’s 24-hour indicator, this version features a small seconds display, highlighting the practical improvements brought by the Cal.911 movement. Based on a Lemania ébauche—just like the Speedmaster—the serial number confirms this piece as a 1971 production. While the Speedmaster became NASA’s official choice, the Flightmaster was adopted by the Soviet space agency Roscosmos, symbolizing two distinct paths in space exploration. This model is a remarkable synthesis of functionality, historical significance, and refined design.
