COMMENT

1960年製の初期型で、Ref.6605から継承された細かな刻みのフルーテッドベゼルとアルファハンドを備えています。ルミナスを持たないフェイスは、ゴールドの立体造形とわずかなレタープリントのみで構成され、贅を尽くした意匠となっています。Ref.1601のダイヤル外周には段差が見られますが、本個体はパイパンの中央部がサンレイ、ミニッツマーカー部分が鏡面仕上げとなった、他ではほとんど見られない仕様です。当時のクロノメーター証明書と、無記名のギャランティペーパー、パスポートケースが付属します。

ケースは傷がほとんどなく、プロポーションが良好です。ダイヤルは点状の経年変化が見られるものの、シャンパンとミラーも仕上げが美しく残存。コントラストが見事です。当時のオリジナル針とインデックスは、上面の鏡面仕上げが輝きを放っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Ref.1601は1959年頃から製造が始まったとされますが、このダイヤル仕様は流通量が極めて少なく、最初期かつ旗艦機種のみ。そのディテールは、見事な美しさです。いつの時代でも価値のあった18金無垢のロレックス、言うならばオーナーチェンジは常です。1960年製....これら付属品の存在は素性の良さを表しています。

This early 1960 production Datejust retains the finely fluted bezel and elegant alpha hands carried over from its predecessor, the Ref.6605. The luminous-free dial is executed with absolute restraint, composed solely of applied gold indexes and minimal lettering, embodying a lavish yet understated aesthetic. While most Ref.1601 examples feature a stepped outer track, this piece is highly unusual: the pie-pan dial is finished with a sunburst central field and a mirror-polished minute ring—a rare configuration almost never seen. It is accompanied by its original chronometer certificate, an unsigned guarantee paper, and a passport-style case.

The case remains in excellent condition, with virtually no scratches and well-preserved proportions. The dial shows only minor speckled aging, yet retains a striking contrast between the champagne sunburst and mirrored outer section. The original hands and indexes maintain sharp mirror facets that continue to reflect light vividly. The watch has been fully serviced by our workshop.

Production of the Ref.1601 is thought to have begun around 1959, but this dial execution was reserved for only the very earliest and flagship-grade pieces, making it exceedingly scarce. The details are refined to remarkable effect, elevating it as a true connoisseur’s example. As with any 18k solid gold Rolex, ownership typically passed from one generation to the next, but the presence of original documentation alongside this 1960 piece underscores its exceptional provenance and integrity.
