The silver sunburst dial is fitted with slender applied baton indexes and hands accented by black inserts. Wider double indexes mark 12, 6, and 9 o’clock, while the date display at 3 o’clock is framed by a raised, faceted surround.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe case shows fine scratches from use, though the defined cutting at the tips of the lugs and the outlines of the case sides remain clear, preserving good overall proportions. The dial displays slight aging, while its sunburst finish and printed details remain well preserved. The hands and indexes show no notable scratches or corrosion and continue to reflect the light cleanly. Inside the case, the “STAYBRITE STEEL” designation, Ref.803A, and case number remain clearly legible. During winding, the mechanism produces a distinctive sound reminiscent of rolling beads, noticeably louder than that of many comparable movements. The system transfers the motion of the rotor to the mainspring through a cam and paired pawls, providing efficient winding and durable construction. Its fundamental design would continue to influence later IWC movements. Cal.8541 operates at 19,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. As one of the most developed members of the Cal.85 family, it was also used in higher-grade contemporary models, including the Ingenieur.
