1959年から、1989年まで製造されたRef.1016 Explorer。

30年間販売されたロングセラー商品であるだけに、
幾つものマイナーチェンジを繰り返してきました。

 

その中でも、初期にあたる1959年から1967年に製造された

ミラーダイヤルは、格別な人気を誇ります。
シリアルナンバー74万番代のこちらは、外周のチャプターリングが人気の前期型、中でもType 3に分類されるダイヤルです。

 

Ref. 1016 Explorer was produced from 1959 to 1989.
As a long-selling product for 30 years, it has undergone a number of minor changes.

Among them, the gilt dials manufactured from 1959 to 1967, especially the ones with the early chapter ring, are exceptionally popular.
This one with serial number 74++++ is a dial classified as Type 3 among the popular early-type dials with the chapter ring on the outer circumference.

・EXPLORERの二つのEの上の棒が長い

! Exclamation Dial
 

6時下にはドットが入る、エクスクラメーションダイヤルです。

ロレックスがインデックスと針の発光素材に使用されるラジウムを取り除き、トリチウムに入れ替えた際に用いられた意匠です。放射線量が50年末から60年前にかけての原子力委員会による新しい規制に適合したことを示しています。

 

It is an exclamation dial with a dot below 6 o'clock.
This is the design used by Rolex for the reduced intensity of radium used in the luminous material for the indexes and hands. It indicates that the radiation level complies with the new regulations set by the Atomic Energy Commission between the end of the 1950 and the beginning of the 1960 years ago.

 インデックスの夜光塗料は埋め込み式で、ダイヤルより一段下がります。ミラーダイヤルの1016は全てこの製法となっています。

SERVICE

 　

オーバーホールでの、最も危険な作業は針の取り外しです。

夜行塗料を崩さないように細心の注意を払います。
　　針同士の接触で夜光の破損を防ぐ為、必要に応じて
フィルムで保護しながら一本ずつ針を外します。

 　

The most dangerous task in maintenance is removing hands.
I am very careful not to ruin the luminous paint.
To prevent damage to luminous due to contact between hands,
Remove the hands one by one, protecting them with a film if necessary.

　



　　

機械のコンディションも申し分ありません。

バランスの取れた巻き上げヒゲが美しいです。
耐震装置、KIFショックには種類がありますが、
こちらは古いタイプの仕様です。
