1960年代のエアキング、ブラックミラーダイヤルです。インデックスは細身のバーを基調とし、3、6、9時にはスクエア型のインデックスを配しており、オールドロレックスらしい堂々としたデザインを特徴としています。針はアルファハンドでシンプルな印象。王冠ロゴはフラットタイプで、適度なスポーツ感が漂う点も魅力的です。ミニッツラインやROLEX、SWISSの表記はギルト加工されており、クラシカルな雰囲気を引き立てています。特筆すべきは、シルバープリントされたAir-King表記と共に、SUPER PRECISIONの表記がこの年代特有のポイントである点です。ラグ幅20mmのエラスティック仕様のオイスターブレスレット、エンドリンク58、クラスプデイト60/4を装備し、当時のディテールが色濃く残されています。

ノンデイト自動巻モデルとして長い歴史を持つエアキングですが、特にSUPER PRECISION世代のブラックダイヤルは現在高い需要を誇っています。Ref.5504はジャンボサイズ。スペシャルな仕様をお探しの方には、今回の個体は見逃せない一品となるでしょう。

言わずと知れた世界を代表する時計ブランドROLEXの＜Air-King（エアキング）＞。 初代＜Air-King＞が登場したのは1940年代後半。シンプルで洗練されたデザインが人気を呼び、マイナーチェンジを繰り返しながら成長し続ける長寿モデルです。

COMMENT

This is an Air-King from the 1960s, featuring a black mirror dial. The indexes are mainly slender bar markers, with square markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, giving it a bold vintage Rolex character. The hands are alpha style, adding to the simplicity of the design. The crown logo is the flat type, lending a subtle sporty feel. The minute track, along with the “ROLEX” and “SWISS” inscriptions, are executed in gilt, further enhancing its classical appeal.

A particularly notable detail is the silver-printed “Air-King” designation, accompanied by the “SUPER PRECISION” text, a hallmark of this era. It comes fitted with a 20mm elastic Oyster bracelet, end links 58, and clasp code 60/4, retaining strong period-correct details.

As a no-date automatic model, the Air-King has a long and storied history, and the black dial examples from the “SUPER PRECISION” generation are especially sought after today. The Ref. 5504 stands out as the jumbo-size variant. For collectors seeking something special, this piece is not to be overlooked.
