華奢なストレートラグがラウンドケースの輪郭を際立たせる、IWC インター Ref.1818。シルバーのサンレイダイヤルに、ブラックプリントのペンシルハンドとバーインデックスを合わせ、パールドロップとアプライドのロゴを含めて、1960年代後半に完成するIWCの均整を凝縮した意匠です。中心が大きくカーブしたボンベダイヤルが光の輪を繊細に動かし、簡潔でありながら立体感のある表情を作ります。搭載ムーブメントは手巻きCal.89。1950年頃から1970年頃にかけてIWCを支えた名機として知られます。

ケースは傷が少なく、オリジナルのプロポーションをよく残しています。ダイヤルは焼けが少なく、引き締まったシルバーカラーが美しく保たれています。ルーペで確認すると、ごくわずかな経年変化が確認できます。インデックス、針、アプライドロゴは整った状態です。針の上面メッキはくすみがなく、清澄な印象です。裏蓋はパッキン入りのIWC独自の防水スナップ仕様で、お魚マークのリューズを備えています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Ref.1818は、過度な装飾を排しながら、素材感と造形で品位を組み立てたIWCらしさが明確なモデルです。ボンベダイヤル、細い針、端正なインデックスのバランスが、視認性と静かな色気を両立させています。Cal.89の確かな設計と相まって、時代の空気をそのまま残した“使えるドレス”として成立している点が魅力と言えるでしょう。なお防水スナップ構造は汗程度を意識した仕様ですが、経年個体につき過信は禁物です。

The slender straight lugs accentuate the round case profile of the IWC Inter Ref. 1818. A silver sunray dial is paired with black-printed pencil hands and bar indexes, complemented by the pearl-drop minute track and applied logo—an expression that distills the balanced design language IWC perfected in the late 1960s. The prominently curved bombé dial animates a delicate ring of light across its surface, creating dimensionality within an otherwise restrained composition. It is powered by the hand-wound Cal. 89, widely regarded as one of the movements that supported IWC from the 1950s through the 1970s.

The case shows minimal wear and retains its original proportions well. The dial exhibits little aging, preserving its crisp silver tone; under magnification, only faint signs of time can be observed. The indexes, hands, and applied logo remain in orderly condition. The plating on the hands is clear and free from dullness, maintaining a clean impression. The caseback features IWC’s proprietary waterproof snap construction with gasket, and the crown bears the fish emblem. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Ref. 1818 clearly reflects IWC’s philosophy of constructing elegance through material quality and form rather than ornamentation.
