COMMENT
The navy dial features a sunray finish with a contrasting matte center, creating a subtle two-tiered structure. This chronograph is equipped with a 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 12, complemented by a tachymeter scale along the outer perimeter and a day-date display at 3 o’clock. Luminous material is applied to the center of the hour and minute hands as well as the indexes, while the orange central chronograph seconds hand provides a vivid accent.
This example is NEW OLD STOCK (unused). Such condition offers valuable insight into the manufacturing standards of its time. The dial retains its luster, and the printed elements remain sharply defined. No scratches are visible on the chronograph sub-dial hands, and there is no chipping to the lume atop the indexes. The case and bracelet show only the faintest signs of handling, reflecting careful storage. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
The 6138 series stands among the representative movements of SEIKO’s automatic chronographs introduced from 1969 onward. Conceived as a practical chronograph for daily use, it balances functionality with expressive design. The interplay between the navy sunray surface and matte center gives this model a distinct visual character unique to its reference.
