COMMENT

シルバーダイヤルに放射状のサンレイ仕上げが施され、洗練された光の反射が楽しめます。針は3面構成のドーフィンハンドで、上面に美しい鏡面加工が施されています。インデックスは幅広の3面で構成されており、無駄のないバータイプのデザインと調和しています。ノンデイト仕様により、フェイスは左右対称のすっきりとしたバランスが保たれています。

ケースは若干の使用傷が見られますが、全体としてはバランスの整った良好なコンディションです。特にベゼル周りに目立つ傷が少なく、透明感のある外観を維持しています。ダイヤルは経年による黒点がうっすらと全体に浮かんでいますが、使用時に気になるものではありません。針とインデックスはくすみが最小限で、鏡面の美しさがしっかりと残されています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

キングセイコー初代モデルにあたるこのJ14102Eは、1961年から1964年にかけて製造されました。当時、諏訪精工舎によるグランドセイコーに対抗すべく設計され、高精度を追求したロービートムーブメントが搭載されています。多くの個体が金張りケースであるなか、本品は希少なステンレススチール製。機能性と質感の両面で優れた存在感を備えた一本です。

キングセイコーは1961年8月に亀戸の第二精工舎にて開発され、グランドセイコーに次ぐ高級腕時計としてセイコーの時計史において欠かすことのできない名品腕時計となっています。

COMMENT

The silver dial features a refined sunburst finish that captures and reflects light beautifully. The hands are faceted dauphine-style with a polished mirror finish on the top surface, while the wide, three-dimensional hour markers are executed in a clean bar design that complements the overall aesthetic. The no-date configuration contributes to a symmetrical, uncluttered dial layout.

The case shows minor signs of wear but remains well-balanced and in good overall condition. The bezel, in particular, is free from noticeable blemishes, maintaining a clear and crisp appearance. The dial has developed a light patina with fine speckling from age, though it does not detract from the watch’s presence when worn. Both the hands and markers retain their mirrored finish with only minimal dulling. Fully disassembled and cleaned by our workshop.

This J14102E is the first-generation King Seiko, produced between 1961 and 1964. Developed by Daini Seikosha in response to Suwa Seikosha's Grand Seiko, it was equipped with a low-beat movement designed for accuracy. While most examples were gold-filled, this particular piece is crafted from stainless steel, making it a rare and desirable variant that balances function and finesse.

King Seiko was developed in August 1961 by Daini Seikosha (Kameido) as Seiko’s second high-grade line, following Grand Seiko. It remains one of the most historically significant and celebrated series in the brand’s legacy.
