1990年製のスピードマスター5thモデルのご紹介です。アポロ11号月面着陸20周年モデルでUS版2000本＋ドイツ版250本+全世界版約4000本の約6250本限定生産です。記念モデルの特徴として、ケースサイドに「APOLLO XI 1969」と刻まれています。US版やドイツ版は刻印の前に、「製造個体番号/2000 or 250」が入るので、こちらは全世界版の個体になります。レターは90年代初頭までプリントされていた、Speedmaster表記のSが長く、rが下がっている通称「下がりr」が特徴です。夜行塗料はトリチウムを採用しています。後年には現行品でも使用されているルミノバに変わってしまうので、トリチウムによるヴィンテージ特有の雰囲気が楽しめる最後の文字盤となります。また、この年式より後のものはラグ裏にケースシリアルが入ります。ブレスレットはコマがバックルからラグへ向かうにつれて、徐々に大きくなっていく、86年～90年代初頭に採用されたRef.1450通称カマボコブレスを装備しています。エンドピース（FF）は808番で全てオリジナルです。ムーブメントは1988年に赤金メッキから金メッキ仕様に変化したCal.861を搭載しています。

ケースは多少の打痕がありますが手が入っておらず、ツイストラグの複雑なプロポーションを程度よく保持しています。スレが目立ちやすいベゼルは状態良く残っています。ケースバックにはオメガが工場出荷時に付ける赤いシーリングスタンプが現存しています。ダイアルはパーフェクトです。傷や劣化はなく、針やインダイアルにもダメージは見当たりません。ルミナスはこの上なく美しいベージュ焼けをしています。色味が濃くスピードマスターの無骨な表情をより引き立てていて、最高評価のエイジングです。ブレスに伸びはなくフレッシュな装着感です。当店にてオーバーホール済みで、パワーリザーブ48時間以上、日差＋15秒の高精度を記録しています。作動コンディションにおいて、抜かりはありません 。

スピードマスターは1969年のNASAによる月面着陸から現在までの約50年間、ほとんどその形状を変化させることなく製造を続けています。20周年記念モデルのこちらは約30年前の個体。細かなディティールはヴィンテージスピードマスターの妙味があります。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

Allow me to introduce the Speedmaster 5th model from 1990. This particular piece commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing and is part of a limited production run of approximately 6250 units worldwide, comprising 2000 units for the US version, 250 for the German version, and around 4000 units for the global version. A distinctive feature of this commemorative model is the engraving of "APOLLO XI 1969" on the case side. Unlike the US and German versions, which feature individual serial numbers preceding the engraving, this one belongs to the global edition. Notably, it bears the characteristic "dropped 'r'" in the Speedmaster lettering, with the 'S' being elongated, typical of the early 1990s. The luminous material used is tritium, providing a vintage ambiance rarely found in later models, which switched to luminescent materials like Luminova. Additionally, post-1990 models feature the case serial number engraved on the lug underside. It comes equipped with the "Kamaboko" bracelet, also known as the Ref.1450, which features progressively larger links from the buckle to the lugs, a design adopted in the late 1980s to the early 1990s. The end pieces (FF) are all original and bear the 808 designation. The movement is powered by the Cal.861, which transitioned from a red-gold to gold plating in 1988.

While the case shows minor scratches, they are unobtrusive, maintaining the intricate proportions of the twisted lugs. The bezel, prone to wear, remains in good condition, with visible aging adding character. The case back retains the red sealing stamp applied by Omega at the time of factory shipment. The dial is flawless, free from scratches or deterioration, with the hands and sub-dials showing no signs of damage. The tritium lume exhibits a beautiful beige patina, enhancing the rugged aesthetic of the Speedmaster and representing top-tier aging. With no stretch in the bracelet and a fresh feeling upon wearing, it has undergone overhaul by our team, boasting a power reserve of over 48 hours and a deviation of +15 seconds per day, ensuring impeccable operational condition.

The Speedmaster has remained largely unchanged in form since NASA's moon landing in 1969, spanning nearly 50 years to the present day. This 20th-anniversary commemorative model hails from approximately 30 years ago, offering the nuanced appeal of vintage Speedmasters through its meticulous details.
