時計デザイナーとして有名なジェラルド・ジェンタが手掛けたCラインケースが特徴的なコンステレーションです。ケースとラグを一体にデザインし、ブレスレットまで統一感をもたせてデザインしています。こちらはその後継機で、アクリル風防からガラスに、また搭載ムーブメントは次世代機のCal.1021に変更されています。

スポーティーになりがちなCラインケースながら、シンプルなダイヤルを合わせてドレス感を失わない秀逸な意匠です。ベゼルにはホワイトゴールドを採用しています。ペンシルハンドにバーインデックスの組み合わせは当時のドレスモデルのコンビネーションです。ダイヤルはブルーの縦ヘアライン仕上げでシルバーとの差異化が図られた、当時としては斬新なデザインだったことでしょう。オメガ純正のブレスレットを装備しています。ブレスレット単体での入手は難しいため、本体購入時に付属しているかどうかは大きなポイントです。

ケースは傷が少なく、元のエッジをよく残した良プロポーションです。ケースサイドにある鏡面の小さな面は均一に残っています。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。この世代のカラーダイアルはエイジングにより、剥がれが発生している個体が多く見られますが、こちらは剥がれが見られません。針やレターのホワイトプリントは発色良く残っており、当時の質感をそのままに残しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

文字盤記載の“CHRONOMETER クロノメーター”とは、国際標準化機構が規定したＩＳＯ３１５９の基準に沿って、公的機関が姿勢や温度の差による厳しい精度試験を行い、クリアしたムーブメントにのみ与えられる“高精度”であることの認証です。

コンステレーションは1952年に発表されて以降、現在もオメガの主力モデルのひとつ。技術的に優れたドレスウォッチがどうあるべきかに対するオメガの答えを示したモデルです。Constellationとは星座を意味し、高級感と高精度を追求し続けたフラグシップモデル。OMEGAが創業以来積み重ねてきた技術を集結したという精度の高さが魅力のひとつ。シンプルながらエレガントで気品あるデザインも高く評価されています。

COMMENT

This Constellation features the distinctive C-line case designed by the famous watch designer Gerald Genta. The case and lugs are integrated into a seamless design, extending the uniformity to the bracelet as well. This model is its successor, with changes from an acrylic to a glass crystal and an upgrade to the next-generation Calibre 1021 movement.

Despite the tendency towards sportiness with the C-line case, the combination of a simple dial retains its dressy elegance, showcasing excellent design. The pencil hands paired with bar indexes were a common combination in dress models of the time. The blue vertical hairline finish on the dial, differentiated from the silver, was an innovative design choice at the time. It comes equipped with an authentic Omega bracelet, which is challenging to obtain separately, making it a significant selling point when purchasing the watch.

The case shows minimal scratches and retains its original proportions well. The small mirrored surfaces on the case sides are uniformly preserved. The dial is in mint condition. While many dials from this era often show signs of ageing and flaking, this one remains intact. The white print of the hands and letters remains vivid, preserving the texture of the time. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our professionals.

The "CHRONOMETER" designation on the dial indicates certification according to the ISO 3159 standards by undergoing rigorous accuracy tests conducted by official institutions under varying conditions, such as posture and temperature differences.

Since its introduction in 1952, the Constellation remains one of Omega's flagship models. It represents Omega's answer to what a technically superior dress watch should be. 'Constellation' signifies a constellation, embodying luxury and precision, pursued continuously in this flagship model.
