The Ref.145.017 is a chronograph model from the Omega De Ville line, powered by the Cal.860 movement. The case was manufactured by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez S.A.), renowned for its waterproof case constructions, and the caseback bears their signature diving bell hallmark. Featuring a screw-back structure and round pushers, it is built with a focus on durability and water resistance. The barrel-shaped C-line case reflects the design language of the late 1960s, achieving a sporty yet refined aesthetic. The dial is the rare matte black variation, adding depth and subtle contrast to the overall design.
The case shows only minor surface marks, with crisp edges that preserve its original, robust form. The dial is in mint condition, with sharp and intact printing throughout. The hands, indexes, and applied Omega logo remain flawless, with no signs of plating loss. The original bracelet exhibits minimal stretch, contributing to the overall excellent condition of the watch. Fully serviced by our watchmakers.
While the Speedmaster represented Omega’s iconic sports chronograph, the De Ville line offered a more refined and urban expression of the chronograph form. Chronographs within the De Ville or Seamaster dress-oriented lines were exceedingly uncommon, making this example particularly notable. The absence of a tachymeter scale results in a clean, balanced composition, with silver sub-dials and bar indexes arranged with precision. The result is a design that combines Omega’s hallmark legibility with understated sophistication.
