1978年から発表されたサントスシリーズ。角形のサントス、オクタゴン、ラウンドの3形状の展開から、代表的なコンビのサントスRef.2961です。1987年に切り替わったガルベと比べ、平面カットされたブレスレットが装備されています。ダイヤルはポーセリンカラー、当時のオリジナルです。カルティエのアイコニックなローマ数字とミニッツトラック、ブルースチールのバトン針が組み合わされています。自動巻ムーブメントであるCal.2671を搭載しています。

ケースは未仕上げです。傷は見られますが、当時のプロポーションを保っており評価できます。実物は写真ほどは目立ちませんのでご安心下さい。オリジナルのダイヤルはほとんどクラックやシミの見られない、大変美しいコンディションです。高倍率のルーペで眺めて初めて確認できる、ごく微細なダメージが11時側キワ部分にありますが、現存するダイヤルの中では極めて良好な部類でしょう。ブルースチールの針にエイジングがなく、深みのある青色を残しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みですので、コレクションにも、実用でも使用できます。

Introduced in 1978, the Santos series comprises the square, octagonal, and round shapes, with the iconic Santos Ref.2961 representing the quintessential combination. Unlike the later Galbée transition in 1987, it features a flat-cut bracelet. The dial is in porcelain color, an original from that era, adorned with Cartier's iconic Roman numerals, minute track, and blue steel baton hands. It houses the automatic movement Cal.2671.

The case retains its unfinished state, displaying scratches yet maintaining its proportions from the era, which is commendable. The original dial is in excellent condition, with minimal cracks or stains, showcasing its beauty. While there are very subtle damages visible at the 11 o'clock edge, only discernible under high magnification, it ranks among the best in terms of dial preservation. The blue steel hands exhibit no aging, retaining their deep blue hue. Having undergone disassembly and cleaning by our company, it's suitable for both collection and practical use.

The creation of the Santos wristwatch, bearing the name of aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont who requested a watch he could easily read while flying, marks its inception in 1911 following his request.
