サントスはブレスレットとベゼルがビスで彩られた、カルティエの個性を象徴するデザインです。指輪ではビスを用いた「LOVE コレクション」が1970年代から製造されています。8角形のベゼルが華やかなサントスオクタゴンは、すでに製造が終了しており、ビンテージならではの意匠です。文字盤は淡いアイボリー、マットな質感がクラシックな風合いです。ミニッツトラック、ローマインデックス、サークルラインのコンビネーションが美しいです。ブルースチールのバトン針と、カボジョンリューズの石の色が合っていて、良いポイントカラーとなります。

ケースとブレスレットは傷の少ない、グッドコンディションです。平面カットがキラキラと輝きます。ダイヤルはミントコンディションで気になるような劣化、エイジングがありません。ブルースチープの針は濃い青色が現存しています。

LMサイズのサントスオクタゴンは、近年入手が難しくなっており、久々のご紹介です。 平面カットされたブレスレットは陽光でキラキラと輝き、良質なバングルを着けているようです。デイト機能付きのクォーツ時計は、使い勝手が良く日常使いに重宝しそうです。

1900年代、飛行士サントス・デュモンが飛行中に時刻を確認できるようカルティエにオーダーしたのが「サントス」の始まり。そのサントスのなかでも八角形型モデル「サントスオクタゴン」は、平面上にカットが入ったブレスが、腕を動かす度にキラキラと煌めきます。シンプルながらもエレガントな印象を与えるモデルです。
