COMMENT

重厚感のあるケースにリューズガードを備えないフォルムが特徴的な、150m防水仕様のセカンドダイバーです。ベゼルの数字やバーインデックスは大きく設計され、高い視認性を実現。針とインデックスは夜光塗料で囲むように仕上げられており、暗所での判読性を確保しています。ムーブメントはCal.6105Aを改良し、ハック機能を追加したCal.6105Bを搭載しています。

ケースは重厚な造形を崩すことなく保たれており、打痕などの傷は最小限。回転ベゼルのプリントは一切の剥がれがなく、当時の質感を見事に維持しています。ダイヤルはエイジングの少ない素晴らしい状態で、夜光塗料はホワイトの発色を保っています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

セイコー150mダイバーのセカンドモデルにあたるRef.6105-8000は、後期型のRef.6105-8110「植村ダイバー」と並び評価される存在です。後期型とは異なり、ケースラインは柔らかなCラインを描き、リューズにはロック機構が備わっていない点が特徴です。本個体はその魅力を鮮明に伝える良好な保存状態を誇り、ヴィンテージダイバーズの系譜を語る上で外せない一本です。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

COMMENT

This is the second-generation Seiko diver, notable for its bold, crown-guard–less silhouette and robust 150 m water resistance. The case, while substantial in thickness, maintains excellent balance and proportion, reflecting Seiko’s pursuit of functional beauty and durability in professional tool watches. The bezel numerals and bar indexes are generously sized for optimal legibility, and both hands and markers are framed around their luminous inserts for enhanced readability in low light. It houses the Cal. 6105B—an improved version of the Cal. 6105A—featuring a hacking function that adds both precision and reliability to its performance.

The case remains sharp and well-preserved, with only minimal wear that does not detract from its solid form. The rotating bezel shows no paint loss, retaining its original matte texture. The dial is in superb condition with minimal aging, while the luminous material remains bright white. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The Seiko Ref. 6105-8000—the second model in the 150 m diver series—stands alongside the later Ref. 6105-8110 “Uemura Diver” as one of Seiko’s most iconic designs. Unlike its successor, it features a softer C-line case and a non-locking crown, giving it a distinctive balance between utility and elegance. Combining mechanical integrity with sculptural appeal, this reference represents a pivotal moment in Seiko’s ascent to global prominence in the diver’s watch category—a historically significant piece in outstanding condition.
