インデックスの直線上に合わせて、ベゼル側へ彫り込みを設けた造形が特徴で、ケース全体に幾何学的なリズムを与えています。ブラックダイヤルに太い夜光インデックスを配し、外周に0〜60のミニッツ表記を備えた実用的な構成。先端に夜行を配したレッドの秒針が視認性を高め、3時位置のデイデイトが日常での扱いやすさを担います。

ダイヤルはクリアで、夜光インデックスの欠けや大きな劣化は見受けられません。針の中央に塗布された夜行は、色味の変化が最少でホワイト状態を維持。ケースとベゼルは使用に伴うスレが確認できますが、彫り込みの輪郭は明瞭に残っています。インナーベゼルの表記は判読性をしっかり確保しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1970年代前後の5スポーツは、実用性を前提としながらデザイン面で積極的な試みが見られるシリーズです。本作のようにベゼルへ彫り込みを入れてインデックスと呼応させる構成は、量産スポーツウォッチの範疇を越えた意匠の凝り方が魅力と言えます。道具としての機能を備えつつ、造形の面白さを楽しめる一本です。

A defining feature of this model is the carved detailing along the bezel, precisely aligned with the dial indexes, creating a geometric rhythm that extends across the entire case. The black dial is fitted with bold luminous indexes and an outer 0–60 minute scale, forming a highly practical layout. A red seconds hand with luminous tip enhances visibility, while the day-date display at 3 o’clock ensures everyday usability.

The dial remains clear, with no noticeable chipping or major deterioration to the luminous indexes. The lume applied to the center of the hands shows minimal discoloration and retains a clean white tone. The case and bezel display light surface wear consistent with use, though the engraved contours remain sharply defined. The inner bezel markings maintain strong legibility. Seiko 5 Sports models from around the 1970s were conceived with practicality in mind, yet often incorporated bold and experimental design elements.
