ダイヤルはマットブラック仕上げ。針は根元をブラック、軸をホワイトとしたツートン構成で、中央に夜光を配しています。インデックスは夜光によるバータイプで統一され、実用性を前面に出したデザインです。6時位置に一段下がった30分積算計を備え、レコード状の細かな溝が中央部とは異なる光の反射を生み出します。リューズは引かずに回転させることでインナーベゼルを操作可能。曜日は日本語と英語の2カ国語表記です。

ダイヤルはマットな質感を保ち、プリントの欠けは見受けられません。針の色味は大きく変化しておらず、インデックスに目立つ欠けは確認できません。ケース上面のヘアラインは明瞭に残り、輪郭は整っています。ベゼルは3時位置付近にわずかな剥がれが見られますが、外観を大きく損なうものではありません。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

搭載するのは、垂直クラッチとコラムホイールを採用したCal.6139。リューズ操作による日付・曜日・言語切り替え機能を備え、当時としては先進的な設計でした。通称“61クロノ”は、諏訪精工舎が送り出した国産初期の自動巻クロノグラフとして高い評価を受けており、機構面と意匠の両面で時代を象徴する存在です。

セイコーが1960年代後半から70年代にかけて精力的に展開していた、＜Seiko 5 Sports（セイコー ファイブスポーツ）＞、のなかでもクロノグラフ搭載モデル＜セイコー ファイブスポーツ スピードタイマー（Seiko 5 Sports Speed Timer）＞は当時の若者の間で爆発的な人気を博しました。カラー文字盤やスポーティなベゼルデザインなど、ダイナミックなデザイン性で若い人のハートをわしづかみに。

COMMENT

The dial is finished in matte black. The hands feature a two-tone construction, with black at the base and white along the stem, and luminous material applied at the center. The indexes are unified in luminous bar form, emphasizing a practical, tool-oriented design. A recessed 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock introduces a subtle step in the dial, with fine record-like grooves creating a distinct play of light compared to the central surface. The inner bezel can be operated by rotating the crown without pulling it out. The day display is presented in both Japanese and English.

The dial retains its matte texture, with no visible loss to the printed elements. The hands show no significant discoloration, and the indexes remain free from notable chipping. The hairline finish on the upper surface of the case remains clearly defined, and the overall contours are well preserved. The bezel shows slight peeling near the 3 o’clock area, though it does not materially detract from the overall appearance. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Powered by Cal. 6139, incorporating both a vertical clutch and column wheel, this movement represented advanced engineering for its time. With crown-operated quickset functions for date, day, and language switching, it reflected a forward-thinking approach to usability. Known as the “61 Chrono,” this series is highly regarded as one of the earliest Japanese automatic chronographs produced by Suwa Seikosha, embodying the spirit of its era both mechanically and aesthetically.
