Ref.166.0173は、ラウンドケースにシルバーの縦ヘアラインダイヤルを組み合わせたGeneveのデイト付き自動巻モデル。外装は鏡面ベゼルとヘアラインケースのコントラストが明確で、シンプルなバーインデックスとペンシルハンドが端正な表情を形成しています。針とインデックス中央にはブラックのアクセントが入り、実用性を意識した視認性の高い設計。3時位置のデイト窓がバランス良く収まり、日常使いに適した構成です。搭載しているCal.1012は、一段引きでリューズを回すと日付が早送りされる仕様です。右回りで日付が戻り、左回りで進むユニークな機能を備えています。さらに、2段引きでの時刻合わせにはハック機能が付いており、秒針を正確に合わせることができます。ブレスレットはこのリファレンス専用で、1181/215です。

NEW OLD STOCK（未使用品）です。未使用品という存在は当時のモノづくりを知る上で貴重な資料のようなものです。ケースはエッジを保ち、過度な痩せは見受けられません。ケース全体のヘアラインがしっかりと維持されており、美しい状態を維持しております。裏蓋の仕上げは整っており、ミントの繊細な美しさが際立ちます。ダイヤルの縦ヘアラインは明瞭に残り、目立つ焼けや大きなダメージは確認できません。針・インデックスのブラックのプリントが鮮明で、全体として均整の取れたコンディションです。夜光塗料はベージュに移ろいでおり、ヴィンテージ感を感じさせます。

Ref. 166.0173 is a date-equipped automatic Geneve featuring a round case and a vertically brushed silver dial. The contrast between the polished bezel and the hairline-finished case is clearly defined, while simple bar indexes and pencil hands create a composed, balanced expression. Black accents at the center of the hands and indexes enhance legibility with practicality in mind. The date window at three o’clock sits neatly within the layout, reinforcing its suitability for daily wear.

Powered by Cal. 1012, the movement offers a convenient quickset function: in the first crown position, the date advances and reverses depending on the direction of rotation—clockwise to move backward, counterclockwise to move forward. In the second position, the hacking function allows precise synchronization of the seconds hand. The bracelet is the reference-specific 1181/215.

This example is New Old Stock (unused). Such untouched pieces serve almost as archival references, preserving the craftsmanship of their era. The case retains crisp edges without signs of excessive thinning, and the original hairline finish remains beautifully intact throughout. The caseback finish is clean and refined, highlighting its mint condition. The vertical brushing on the dial is clearly preserved, with no visible discoloration or significant damage. The black printing on the hands and indexes remains sharp, and the overall condition is exceptionally well balanced. The luminous material has mellowed to a soft beige tone, lending subtle vintage character.

The Cal. 1012 generation represents a mature phase in Omega’s automatic development, known for its stability and reliability. The slim case paired with a practical movement results in a watch that integrates effortlessly into daily life while retaining its vintage appeal.
