COMMENT

薄型設計を生かした端正なスタイルで、18金無垢ケースにシンプルなシルバーダイヤルを収めています。ドレスウォッチのような表情を持ち、細身のペンシルハンドに分針の先端がわずかに下がる意匠は、ケースに沿って端まで届くよう設計されています。インデックスは均一なバーインデックスを採用し、12時位置のみを二重で構成。ミニッツマーカーは控えめに配され、視認性とバランスが両立しています。

ケースは打痕や大きな傷が少なく、良好な印象を与えます。リューズは損傷がなく美しい状態です。ダイヤルはごく一部に細かなキズが見られるものの、エイジングによる色調変化はなく、フレッシュな質感を保っています。インデックスのくすみはわずかで、全体として経年変化が少ない状態です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Ref.15010、1961年製のライナーで、セイコーマーベルをベースに開発されたCal.3140を搭載しています。耐震装置を備えた改良型でありながら、極限まで薄型化を追求した構造は国産高級機ならではの完成度を示しています。手巻きや針回しの操作は滑らかで、扱いやすさも際立つモデルです。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

COMMENT

The watch presents a refined profile that makes full use of its ultra-thin construction, housing a clean silver dial within an 18K solid gold case. Its dress-like character is accentuated by slender pencil hands, with the minute hand slightly curved downward to reach precisely to the edge of the case. The dial features uniform bar indexes, with a double index at twelve o’clock. Minute markers are discreetly applied, ensuring both legibility and visual balance.

The case is free from noticeable dents or major scratches, leaving a very good overall impression. The crown remains unblemished and well-preserved. While the dial shows only minimal surface marks in isolated areas, there is no noticeable discoloration from aging, retaining a fresh appearance. The indexes display only slight patina, and the watch as a whole is remarkably well-preserved with minimal signs of aging. Serviced and disassembled by our watchmaker.

This example is the Ref. 15010, produced in 1961, powered by the Cal. 3140—a movement developed from the Seiko Marvel. Equipped with an anti-shock mechanism, this improved caliber was designed to achieve exceptional thinness, reflecting the technical refinement of high-grade Japanese watchmaking. Manual winding and hand-setting operate smoothly, making it a particularly user-friendly model.

The 1960s marked a period of culmination for mechanical wristwatches, as the technology reached remarkable maturity. During this era, Seiko caught up with—and in many respects surpassed—the world’s leading makers, excelling both in precision competitions and mass production. At the same time, “the electronic era of watchmaking” was taking shape. In December 1969, Seiko launched the world’s first quartz wristwatch, a development that signaled a dramatic shift from mechanical to quartz timekeeping.
