COMMENT

ブラックミラーのダイヤルは、メーカーロゴを除くすべてのレターを下地出しで構成し、ヴィンテージならではの丹念な仕上げが際立ちます。針は中央に夜光を配したペンシルハンド、インデックスは夜光付きバータイプで統一され、視認性とデザインの調和を両立。ホワイトの回転ベゼルにはブラックで精緻なスケールがプリントされ、計測時の判読性を高めています。

ケースは傷が少なく、全体としてクリアな印象を保っています。使用に伴う微細な擦れや打痕は見られるものの、良好なコンディションです。ダイヤルはブラックミラー特有の艶がしっかりと残り、エイジングによる変化は最小限。針はホワイト塗装の質感を保ち、針・インデックスの夜光は黒く経年変化しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

初期のナビタイマーはブラックダイヤルが基本でしたが、1960年代のセカンドジェネレーションで白いサブダイヤルと白縁インナーベゼルを採用した“リバースパンダ”仕様が登場しました。この仕様は、ナビタイマーの普遍的なデザインの元祖として広く認知され、今日に至るまで数多くのモデルに継承されている象徴的な存在です。

BRAND

1884年、スイスのサン・ティミエに複雑時計製作の工房が設立されたのが＜BREITLING＞のルーツ。創業者のレオン・ブライトリングはクロノグラフ製作の才能に富み、博覧会では数々の賞を受賞、その名を世間に知らしめました。彼はエンジン飛行機が発展途上であった頃から航空産業の発展を確信し、飛行機のための時計や計器メーカーとして航空産業を支える意志を示しました。その意志を受け継いだ2代目ガストン・ブライトリングは世界初の腕時計型クロノグラフを開発するなど航空産業に多大な貢献をしています。“クロノグラフのスペシャリスト”として確固たる地位を築いた＜BREITLING＞は、今なお世界中で愛されている名門ブランドとして発展し続けています。

COMMENT

The black mirror dial features gilt-engraved lettering throughout, with the exception of the manufacturer’s logo, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship characteristic of vintage timepieces. Pencil hands with luminous centers are paired with luminous bar indexes, achieving a balance between legibility and design harmony. The white rotating bezel is finely printed with a black scale, enhancing readability during timing operations.

The case remains in clean overall condition with only minimal wear. While faint hairlines and small marks from use are present, they do not detract from its appeal. The dial retains the rich gloss unique to black mirror finishes, with only the slightest signs of age. The hands preserve their crisp white paint, while the lume on both hands and indexes has aged to a deep, even black. Disassembly and cleaning have been carried out by us.

While early Navitimers were predominantly fitted with black dials, the second generation introduced in the 1960s brought the now-iconic “reverse panda” configuration, featuring white sub-dials and a white-ringed inner bezel. This layout is widely recognized as the origin of the Navitimer’s timeless design, a style that has been faithfully echoed in countless subsequent models and remains an enduring symbol of the line.

Founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, Breitling traces its origins to a workshop dedicated to the creation of complicated watches. Its founder, Léon Breitling, was gifted in the production of chronographs, earning numerous awards at international exhibitions and quickly establishing a reputation for excellence. Convinced of the future of aviation even in its infancy, he positioned the brand as a maker of timepieces and instruments for the emerging aeronautical industry. This vision was carried forward by his successor, Gaston Breitling, who developed the world’s first wrist-worn chronograph, making substantial contributions to aviation history. Today, Breitling continues to uphold its legacy as a true “specialist of chronographs” and remains one of the most celebrated names in watchmaking worldwide.
